Just imagine. You fly to Nepal, climb to 12k feet. Acclimate for 2 weeks. Climb to base camp of Everest. Wait for a window in the weather. Make your ascent. Almost die. Multiple times. Get to the summit. It's surreal. Then some dude blasts up the ridgeline to your feet on a KTM thumper. Screams "HOLY FUCKBALLS"

@@TheWildAlaskan that's awesome. snow bikes in deep powder look too slow to interest an old avid high-powered snowmobile hillclimber, but your vids have shown us what a snow bike can do on soft-topped spring hardpack. i'm completely sold on this being better than a sled with how you handled the peak. the bike can carve and cut back harder than a sled in this condition, and when it falls over it does not as easily roll down the hill like a log. now i really want a snow bike. was that first or second gear at the peak?

The summit is just over 3k feet, so it wouldnt be as bogged down as it would be in the Rockies. It looks much higher than it is since the tree line in AK is about 2000'. No matter how you slice it though, this is a really impressive climb! Both rider and kit killed it.

@TheWildAlaskan Жыл бұрын
That slide definitely goes a long ways down! Had real good stability at the time time though, a points north (heliski operation) snowboarder went down it before us, we went down it then I couldn't resist trying to go back up with how much traction there was that day and how much snow we had gotten up high that year! tried it last year with the sled guys but highest anyone could get was about 3/4 of the way.

Holy crap. I've ridden on rented Timbersleds in the Vail area. The elevation and drag is a heavy load on them, it is amazing the Timbersled pulled that. Way to go! That is serious commitment. You also succeeded in giving me virtual anxiety 😂 A good two stroke powder sled would probably rip up that with skis aloft. My group with the Timbersleds (also KTM 450s like the one here) rented a Polaris 800, and the amount of sheer power the sled has is just stupid. I am a little surprised those sleds are rented to the general public because they are fast AF and serious as a heart attack.
