As usual, a fabulous and important layman's approach to the problems faced by those who are not new to this, but might be, and those that need a little more insight and explanation to move forward into a more sophisticated and possibly professional level of artistry...well-done: Thank you to a beautiful, intelligent and articulate young designing Artisan... God Bless...x

Thanks for this. I have a funky rolling tray mould, I'm gonna use this technique on the leaf part. In Scotland that's supposed to be called cling film, but mostly it's called annoying 🤣😂💙💜🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Those look really cool, I love the chameleon! And I think the whole point of using celofane is to leave it in because it already has a beautiful color!

I was curious if painting a thin layer of resin on the plastic wrap then laying it onto the resin in the mold would help prevent air pockets….

I definitely like the chameleon one's the best. Very pretty! And I would have really loved the iridescent cellophane one.If ONLY you would have used a black background. Whenever I'm working with iridescent or window film that you get from Amazon with all the different patterns. Always use a black background to really get that full prism effect. Thanks for sharing

You could have poured resin over the cellophane. The colours would have been beautiful.

Cut the pieces to inlay in other projects is what I’m thinking. It would look amazing as broken glass or ice effect.

Thank you for this video! Since some plastics work and some don’t, I want to make sure I use the right one. I’d hate to,waste the resin. Also, what is Duro-Chrome. I looked on your Amazon shop and didn’t see it. Did I miss it? I’m in the US.

I've heard that when using resins and such you should wear a respirator? Do you?

I want to know more about the chrome pigment. Is it a mica powder? Can it be mixed directly into resin , if so what does it look like? Can I brush mica powder I'm between layers of my resin as I am making a project?
@sandcastle2069
@sandcastle2069 Жыл бұрын
Yes, its mica. Some are meant to be used with dark colors to pop, but the lighter duo chrome colors work best with very light h white colors. You can mix it in with resin, you can do whatever you want with it, but the best effect you get is by brushing a microscopic part of it where you like it. You’ll need so much of it to get a good effect if you pour it into the resin that it’s no fun. Although it might be more expensive than ordinary mica, you use such a tiny bit of it but you need a very soft brush to get the best effect. There are many brands selling chrome variants of mica powder, as it’s used in card making, scrapbooking, paintings, etc. so just find one that gives you the colors you want, and remember it will pop with very dark colors on top of it (unless you buy the kind meant for white topping).

These turned out really pretty… even the one that had bits of cellophane left in it! I have also heard this method referred to as satin sheet effect. I love your experiment videos and would love to see more. Not sure if you’ve already done one but would love to see you trying out some alternative pigments using household products like chalk, food colouring etc? Thanks so much for sharing Sheri. ❤️
