I love this Watson much better than when portrayed as a bumbling fool. This one is a real military man, who is not afraid of action. And he is no fool even though he isn't quite sure what Holmes is usually up to.Howard Marion-Crawford does a great job with the role.

He play Watson so well, its a shame that he had such a terrible ending to his life. Bad health, then alcohol and then took sleeping pills while using alcohol. Ruled accidental but it is very sad he ended up in a miserable situation. He is so alive in these episodes.

Yeah thats a very good description of Book Watson. He could be closer to Sherlock as a Friend, like the other one, and isnt much of a Womanizer it seemns, but hes quiet good. The Rathborn one is more like Hastings from the Poirot books.

Well, the correct response to "How do you do?" used to be (and still is, in refined circles) a reply in the same vein. Nowadays, though, people take the question literally and are apt to respond, "Very well, thanks!... and you?" or something similar. Times change; habits evolve. I suppose the old way of simply answering one question with the same question was rather daft, if you think about it.

It would be gratifying if Holmes were to actually PREVENT a murder from being committed. I don't think he has ever managed to pull that off. Of course, once the killer has struck he/she cannot hope to evade the good detective's clutches... but it would be nice if Holmes could save a life just once :-( xxx

Didn't that police Bobby remind you of john hillerman of Magnum PI fame? Great show. For me, these were the best actors that played sherlock and watson!! Not such a bumbling watson. And Sherlock was likeable. They both were. Maybe that goes against what the original writings were but I don't care about that. I like these characters. 😃 Thanks for the upload!!🙏

Did Howard Marion-Crawford usually get credited as H. Marion-Crawford, or was it only in these, to play down the other lead being surnamed Howard? And yes, Marion-Crawford's affability and likeability did so much to make these super enjoyable, and to make us overlook so many foibles. In this one, other than the widow, how many of the characters were found smiling carelessly with the innocent man's still-warm body nearly at their feet?

Seven errors in your grammar. Sentence must begin with a capital letter. There, not their. Grammar, not grammer. Coma must be immediately after the word and spaced before next word. The word without is not to be spaced. A period is missing at the end of the sentence.

You’ll notice the policeman at the very beginning in the opening credits as they yell action he’s standing still for a moment until they yell action and then he starts moving very unnatural. He should have been walking as the scene opened you’ll also notice as Holmes and Watson are walking down the sidewalk they come to the white cobblestone at the edge of the sidewalk, which is their their mark to step into the street.
