The respect Benedict Cumberbatch seems to have for Rupert Graves is lovely. In all these commentaries, there's always a lot of feeling of respect for the actors playing more minor roles and they always take the time to talk about their talent.

I appreciate and like Bendy and Marty for their appeal as good actors BUT it is true then there are the ones (mostly gals) who just want to hear his booming voice and his accent(cuz a lot of them are tumblr american girls) and then the ones who actually appreciate the insight of behind the scenes in commentary and the shows and books meaning and entertainment value.

The first series really was brilliant. People getting kidnapped and being forced to kill themselves by a cab driver, Sherlock and John involved with the chinese, and receiving calls from an old blind woman strapped with bombs. They don't make episodes like this anymore.

My suspension of disbelief was really broken at 48 minutes into the episode when The old lady was killed. It made no sense, Moriarty would have already been aware that investigators would ask the lady what he sounded like. Her telling them after the riddle had been solved should not have been a surprise to him, and the sniper should have taken off as soon as Sherlock emailed the answer to the case.

I feel like you kind of explained it already. Moriarty must have known it was an extra risk to have her hear his voice, and that she might give something away, so he had the snipers stay on target while the call was going just in case. Though technically I think it was more about someone going against his instructions (the old lady), clearly he intended to meet Sherlock anyway so it's not like it would have mattered if they knew a few things about his voice. It's all about the game and if a pawn acts out of line it gets eliminated, to keep the stakes high.

Yes, exactly.....I just saw the audio commentary for the Hound and that only featured the creators and one of the actors but it was woooooonderful....I love audio commentary's but yes the "fangirls" or w/e the fuck they are called tend to be people who just swoon over British men's voice and demeanor rather than reall soak up the genuine quality of the show as a whole. I am not trying to sound like a snob it just seems to be true. *shrugs*
