The Importance of Being Earnest acted ! and recorded ! by me one afternoon, when I was testing out a dynamic microphone to see if it would cut it, but it's a bit muddy. Best stick to a Large Diaphragm Condenser.

Thanks for reading this without trying to create absurd voices for each character. The text tells the story all by itself.

Thanks for your comment, Woody M. That was certainly my intention, so glad to hear it has been helpful.

Geez, what a talent!!! You really did great here, Greg! The quick change on each character's voices.....whoooaaa, you got it...so phenomenal! So talented, indeed! And what a funny story, Mr. Wilde.

This is a most wonderful gift in the time of covid!! You are so incredibly accomplished in your performances! This is no exception. Surely so perfect as to be no difference. I have now listened to this perhaps a half dozen times, possibly more. As one recent very bad night I listen over & over until about 5 am. When I finally was able to fall asleep in the relief of your reading of this ‘comedy for serious people’. Which must cover most of us these days. Thank you, thank you many times over! Of course, I have listened to all your readings of ACD’s work, also repeatedly. Thank goodness, or actually you, for those essential tools of mental health.

Have to listen to this again without sniggering and sounds out my nose and giggling. A fast story the way you do it (the only way) and I need to get myself out of the way to better appreciate All the words. Such a good reading. Love listening to you. Good job. Good show. Good work.

Oh my gosh this is awesome! Though I believe it is pronounced 'Cecily' not 'Sicily' which I only notice and care about since the name is so rarely seen in media and I get excited to hear it and this is where I get my name from and I don't want to have to tell my family they've been getting it wrong all these years. But thank you for recording this, it's such a funny play!

No one cares about the pronunciation of the word neither of how you or your family pronounces the word

Bravo. Soooo hilarious throughout. And Mr. Wagland did a superb job as a one-man show of it. I had a little hard time at the beginning knowing who was talking but it didn’t take too long for me to get the flow. I took my mom to this play at the University of Florida back around 1998. We laughed so hard.

By far the best reading on KZbin, if you're reading this and considering any other narration, don't bother, there all sh*t compared to this

this is a pleasure to listen to.. I'm supposed to read the play but I prefer to listen to you reading it as I go through text at the same time. This version is much better than the one with multiple people! Feedback: Could you add the times of the beginning and end of acts so it would be easier to start off where we left? Thank you!

Hi sıla şahin Thank you very much for your kind comments. Re the time codes for the acts: ...well I could do that, but, then again, so could you! ;-)

I watched a movie based on this while drunk on my birthday early this year without having read the text. I think it was really well adapted now that I listen to the original source.

It would be cool to see the play. Too bad that’s very impossible during a pandemic.

Forget the large diaphragm - Dynamic mic was absolutely fine, and I didn't detect the slightest muddiness (except around the entrance to Victoria station). Who'd have thought we'd still be so thoroughly entertained by something written so long ago? Bless you, Oscar Wilde 🙏🕯️ I think he should receive a public apology and posthumous knighthood. Beautifully reenacted Mr W. Your female voice is actually rather cute ❤
