'If you go down to the woods today...'
We found ourselves passing Sherwood Forest in Nottingham. How could we not stop and look for Robin Hood, and in particular, the tree famous for hiding him!
And so we went for a stroll to seek out the Major Oak... while Kag regaled me with her somewhat shaky history of the famous 'Man in Green'!
We eventually found the Major Oak which is thought to be 800 - 1000 years old and has close to a million visitors a year. It is claimed to be the hiding place for Robin Hood and his Merry Men, but there were other surprises hiding in Sherwood Forest, especially the one at the end which we weren't quite ready for...
