I'm sixty-five and feeling that age at the very least. Some lives are fun and very energetic, some are only traumatizing and tiring. Sheryl Crow and her music makes me recall happy times when I grew up in a Los Angeles suburb called "Eagle Rock" where I was almost daily abused in some form or fashion. He happiness makes me forget all that and then I can smile. I didn't do anything, THEY did. Sheryl and her music help me to step out into the bright, warm light again. That's worth more that the price of a record, I'll tell ya! Records... yes, I'm of that vintage.

29 years as a prison guard. Retired and this song has helped me get through the crap I've been through. Thank you. I had to edit this for those who know what I'm talking about. For several years after retiring, I had this feeling that something bad would happen at anytime. There were no more alarms or some one yelling "get down" on the yard for me to respond to. For years I had to deal with some sort of fight, stabbing or assault. no more than a week would go by that I didn't have that in my job. I had a feeling that at any moment something would happen that I would have to react too. When i retired, all of those incidents went away. I've dealt with it over the years but it never goes away. That is why this song means so much to me. Every day is a winding road. And i do get better every day.

but ‘he’s got a daughter he calls Easter’ At the top of the lyric she references intellectualism, philosophy. Plato. Halfway down she references Easter, the cross. the lyric, like a lot of thinking pop lyrics are a faded sign- but, This is Plato’s cave. The thought of George P Grant and Simone Weil. Intellectuals, philosophers who see Christ’s cross (daughter called Easter) as the fulfilment of Plato’s thought - the cave metaphor. The sign is a bit faded.. some days when the light is just right... ✌️

Lyrics I hitched a ride with a vending machine repair man He says he's been down this road more than twice He was high on intellectualism I've never been there but the brochure looks nice Jump in, let's go Lay back, enjoy the show Everybody gets high, everybody gets low, These are the days when anything goes [Chorus] Everyday is a winding road I get a little bit closer Everyday is a faded sign I get a little bit closer to feeling fine He's got a daughter he calls Easter She was born on a Tuesday night I'm just wondering why I feel so all alone Why I'm a stranger in my own life Jump in, let's go Lay back, enjoy the show Everybody gets high, everybody gets low These are the days when anything goes [Chorus] Everyday is a winding road I get a little bit closer Everyday is a faded sign I get a little bit closer Everyday is a winding road I get a little bit closer Everyday is a faded sign I get a little bit closer to feeling fine I've been swimming in a sea of anarchy I've been living on coffee and nicotine I've been wondering if all the things I've seen Were ever real, were ever really happening [Chorus] Everyday is a winding road I get a little bit closer Everyday is a faded sign I get a little bit closer Everyday is a winding road I get a little bit closer Everyday is a faded sign I get a little bit closer to feeling fine

@@ParanormalHorrorArtist you're welcome. I love singing along and I always scroll the comments looking for the lyrics and when I saw none I felt like it was my duty to correct it, especially with a banger such as this.

Sheryl's work was a part of my week for YEARS. I especially loved her version of Cash's "Redemption Day". Excellent. And naturally, so too was "You're My Favorite Mistake". :) I think we all have one of those. If not two or three.

Cheryl Crow, I love you, I was asked years ago who I'd want to be stranded on a deserted island with, I said Cheryl Crow and a guitar, no matter the outcome, the music would be sensational. This song is the song we need right now, as we all wind our way through the pandemic, we get a little bit closer..

I was just a young kid in the 90s, not even in my teens. Im 25 now. I think the 90's were the last *somewhat* peaceful time.A lot of issues were already surfaced and people were fighting, but in general I think humanity was more kind towards eachother. As a young adult I feel lost in the current time we live in. Peace, Love and Unity to everyone on this page.

Well, it probably did feel that way in the West due to the end of the Cold War... but then you also had the Yugoslav Wars, the Rwandan Genocide, the Gulf War, wars in Africa, the bombing of the WTC and other terrorism etc. etc. Maybe it was mostly relative optimism after the threat of nuclear war seemed over in spite of the other conflicts?

I remember I was on my way home after a great day of Football Practice back in my sophomore year and I had to do some homework that is needed to be done and when this song came on the radio all I can do is smile and bop my head to the beat and I was by myself on the school bus last getting dropped off maan it is Awesome to look back when I was 16 that got a Life that was waay ahead of me and Fast forward till this day after making my family proud before they past on. I can truly say I'm continuing to stay on that straight and narrow winding Road of Success and Blessing as I get Older. I Miss Them So Much and I Hope Some Day I can see My Love Ones Again.

I love to see Sheryl with that long dress, old styled shoes, her hair taken like an old woman and almost no make up, and yet still looks great and lovely....she is just so real and humble, and tell us that a great singer and artist doesn't have to be a clown of the show and cosmetic industries...making her feel a stranger in her own life...

"He was high on intellectualism. I've never been there, but the brochure looks nice." My sentiments exactly
@enigmamz8 жыл бұрын
Or it could be "the bro sure looks nice" - as in, "ain't screwed him, but he's cute" However you want to hear it. Both are perfectly acceptable.
@barrygoldwater10378 жыл бұрын
Interesting take, but I think it's brochure. They didn't really use the term "bro" in the 90's, at least to the extent that it's used in pop culture today.

Since I'm an enormously high-browed intellectual, I feel compelled to say that IMHO, that's the best line of any of Sheryl Crow's songs. Makes me smile every time. Btw... at least for me, the brochure is a lot "nicer" than actually going there. Jus' sayin' bruh ;-)
