Thank you for the video! I’m quite new to mums. I purchased around ten pots of mums last fall, they are still in the pots. Now we are in January, zone 7b. With a lot of rain some of the pots start growing again, blooming , but not all of them. Should I give up on the rest.?? I didn’t repot or fertilize.
@shesamadgardener Жыл бұрын
+Sonishca Peater you have time to wait it out and see what happens come spring so don’t be in a hurry to throw them out. Try fertilizing in March and see what happens!

I’m in zone 9b Deep South Texas and I’ve had my mums in ground for years now. They even survived the crazy freeze we had some time back. My dogs have also chewed on them and they still come back. Whenever a stem brakes off then I just stick it in a pot and most of the time it will take. For me I like fertilizing with coffee water, add worm castings and they love it. Color isn’t an issue with me as I’m looking to add more plants to my landscape. 😊 Thank you for sharing your tips. Wish I had known these when I bought my first mums. Awesome information for anyone new to buying mums.

I love flowers and gardening but am unable to get out and do it anymore. My husband just gave me a lavender mum for our Anniversary last week. It’s my favorite color. It was in full bloom and beautiful. Still looks great and I keep it near a window and have dead head the flowers. I am hoping to put it in another pot and keep it inside so I can take care of it. If it gets put outside I won’t be able to get to it or enjoy it. Where I have it it gets late day sun but not too much. My husband is not much of a gardener so he doesn’t know that when you buy flowers like this not to get them all in full bloom. All he was thinking about was that they were pretty and would not die like a vase of flowers. Bless his heart did not want to tell him that he should not have bought it in full bloom 😂

How wonderful must be to be able to enjoy your garden all year long, we have 6 months of winter and very tricky to learn how each plant survives or not in winter. Also I feel like I got to chose flowers that bloom as long as possible if I want to maximize those short months of good weather.

you didn't talk much about watering.... I live in perhaps a similar climate as you (dry hot summer, cool on-and-off rainy winter)... after they're in the ground, will my chrysanths suffer if it rains a lot? the roots could rot maybe... though I do have well-draining soil (sand/compost/terrarosa). thank you for all your help!
