I wear sweatbands every time I go out in the garden. Really helps. I spent the afternoon cleaning and organizing the greenhouse and cleaning my used plant pots, etc. looks so much nicer and more relaxing for me for the rest of the summer. Great to see the butterfly waiting to get up close and personal with your recent plantings.

I take a break mid mornings, then I come in for lunch around 1:00 and call it quits for the day. Most of my yard is too sunny to be exerting myself in the afternoon. If there's time after dinner, I might do a few odd jobs or finish up something. The summer weather keeps getting hotter. Good luck with those planters.

All this just to say I live in a rain forest. Those containers will look top notch come mid summer and then they will the show stoppers. Enjoy the cooler indoors and have a wonderful day.

I don't have a lot of funds for big plants, either. I am starting to grow more and more of my annuals from seed to save money. Our season is so short if they don't start fairly full they don't look good until the frost comes. I learned this year I need to start my annuals sooner so they are ready to bloom by the end of May.

Hey Amanda, Will you please tell us about the landscaping edging you used to define your garden beds. Where was it sourced? And how much of a investment was made?? Thank you and stay cool and safe.❤😅
@shesamadgardener5 ай бұрын
It’s the basic metal edging that you can get from Lowe’s or Home Depot … when I installed it, I believe it was about $10-15 per 8 ft length …. Its is very easy to install but you have to take the time to dig out grass before installing.
@litasolis96715 ай бұрын
great ideas. One foundation perennial is a great way to keep containers full and perhaps save a little money season over season. Do you find the plastic containers dry out faster than terracotta or cement containers? i want to invest in some bigger ones, but I don't have drip at this time.
@shesamadgardener5 ай бұрын
Terracotta dried out the fastest by far …. Plastic does great for me. I dont have many concrete planters with proper drainage so I couldn’t say on those/
@vickiesecary79395 ай бұрын
Did you grow all your zinnias yourself? I planted in February and everything just barely grew 1-2 inches. When do you start seed sowing? How far do you place your grow lights away from the soil? My grow lights might not have been adequate. I’ll get better lights for this next go round. All the containers look very beautiful!🤗
@wendy50065 ай бұрын
I had the same problem with what seemed like stunted growth of my seedlings. In my case I found that once I actually transplanted the little seedings into my regular garden soil, they started growing and eventually producing flowers. So maybe you can experiment with a few and see if that works for you.
@shesamadgardener5 ай бұрын
I grew a lot from seed but not these particular ones … if yours have stunted growth, consider potting up and fertilizing regularly.
@marleneegan-hm7lr5 ай бұрын
I see what I think are bearded iris leaves in your garden. I planted two for the first time, very shallowly, didn’t cover, lots of sun. The leaves looks great, long green and strappy! I never got a bloom this spring. Has this ever happened to you? Also, I love the look of my chocolate cosmos, but I don’t think they have much of a chocolate scent!
@shesamadgardener5 ай бұрын
Mine took a year to get settled before blooming, so yours might need some more time.

Hi Off topic of your current video but I was thinking on another video you spoke of Veronica plants would not grow good for you. I have some 3 year old Veronica plants that looked so beautiful but now they are losing their leaves from the bottom up. They did this last year and I thought maybe I didn’t take care of them properly and I’d do better next year. Well it’s happening and I know I have done my best. Could you tell me what yours did and did you figure out why? Thanks.
@shesamadgardener5 ай бұрын
Mine suffered from spider mites and never made it past one season. Since yours are three years old, so they need to be divided this fall?
@seeingthesitzes43335 ай бұрын
@@shesamadgardener I didn’t divide them. They struggled so much last year that I didn’t want to push my luck lol. I remembered you saying yours struggled too but I couldn’t remember why and I watch all of your videos so no way I would find it lol. Thanks anyways 😁
