I'm kind of amazed at how much of these games are actually sets, like in a play. I always just assumed a lot of things, like the Summon animations, were just... Animated. A cut scene. It never crossed my mind that they would be a thing you can move a camera around in.

Sephiroth's "Supernova" move was always confusing. Its powerful enough to completely obliterate planets and move the sun, but only strong enough to do 90-something percent damage to humans

Just posting for any travelers, the case of the unused cave as mostly been cracked by this point. It's not definitive, but all the evidence points to it being an exit from the Ancient Forest. At one point in development, it seems you were able to choose which path you wanted to take to the Forgotten Capital between the Sleeping Forest and Ancient Forest, and you'd access the Ancient Forest from a now unused pathway in Bone Village. The end of it would plop you out at that cave entrance where you could climb down and be on your way.
@michaelkyle6171
@michaelkyle6171 7 жыл бұрын
The cave at 5:00 was originally supposed to be the entrance to the Forest of the Ancients, but the developers decided to move it to a plateau in the Cosmo Canyon region.

And that's why, in most Squaresoft games, Nobuo Uematsu (the composer) is practically top-billed in the credits. And why there are games which are Squeenix's answer to _Osu!._ Dude's pretty damn talented. I *still* can't listen to _Aerith's Theme_ without having to excuse myself from the room.

That song is already pretty emotionally stirring, but watching the scene with Shera play out and I'm just a wreck. _"Shit! Shera, you goddamn fool! You wanna make me a _*_murderer?!_*_ You're gonna be burned to a crisp! You're gonna _*_die!_*_ Get it?! ...Oh man. The moon... Outer space... My dreams... What do I do?!"_ I don't think I'll ever get over that scene, and the total panic that goes with it.

The ONE thing the remake better not fuck up is the near-perfect soundtrack. I accept nothing less than the original soundtrack but with the real instruments that the synthesized instruments were trying to replicate. Then again, this is what I hate about HD remakes, instead of increasing the quality of the music, they instead attempt a try-hard remix to be "hip", Megaman X being the biggest offender.

This music takes me back.. if you werent there you just can't understand how amazing and how groundbreaking, how unbelievable this game was. It looks like an old game now but it's still the biggest technical leap in gaming we've seen. Coming from Atari..8 and 16 bit to this was just something we never imagined. This was beyond huge and like nothing that had come before.

Funny thing... all this time, people's assumptions were wrong about that. Turns out that canonically, he's actually destroying an ALTERNATE dimension... and he's putting the players there as astral projections to witness his power. It shouldn't actually hurt them, but it's the sheer SCOPE of his devastation and how real it FEELS that hurts them.

Can't wait to see Boundary Break going into the new Remake after any tools to do so get developed. Considering how great the environment looks in that game, I'm really wondering how much if it is actually there, and what parts are just clever tricks. Most important, a big title like that is very likely going to have some secrets hidden away off camera.

I've got to admire the creativity and ingenuity on two fronts: from the programmers who manipulated images and in-game space to achieve these results, and from the fans who've managed to dissect the old software to show us how it all worked.

Seeing this really makes you appreciate how much work got put into this game and realize that the game is much more detailed then people give this game credit for. I love the fact of how they kept the 3D models and morphs simple so they could fit all the textures, fmv's, and maps on the game which gave way to the most well received game of the 32 bit console era.

Not sure how I've never noticed that Chocobo in the Gold Saucer either. I mean...what did I think it was? I also want to now what the deal is with the doll hidden in the Corel Prison well. That well is just full of mysteries. Finally, where is this T Shirt link I heard about? I'm intrigued that KZbin is looking into ways to help creators turn a profit.

All I'm showing is a picture of FF7 with "Final Fantasy VII" "1997" and "Explore in KZbin Gaming" then "SHOW MORE" or if the description is expanded it lists the animator, the set designer, the category, and the KZbin license and "SHOW LESS". Then Below that all I see is "513 Comments" and "sort by" settings, then finally the comments. By the sounds of things I should see it between "SHOW MORE" or "SHOW LESS" and the number of comments? I mean I might be daft and missing it (Don't rule that out), but I don't see it. :(

Wow, nice job once again! I loved seeing the summons at all these different angles, since the camera is so cinematic and all. I am currently wondering something: Is there a chance you could do an episode on different games from Call of Duty? There actually is a ton of neat stuff hidden off the map: headless models, guns that are under the map, and in my own Boundary Breaking experience, World at War's multiplayer maps alone could make for a whole episode. There's glitch mountains in the map Makin, re-used house assets in Asylum, there's just a lot of stuff. I actually have a viewer request for if you choose to do a Call of Duty episode: in Black Ops, there's an interrogator behind some glass, and in the main menu, going into Zombies Mode actually has him get Turned. What I'm wondering is A) What does the model of the human interrogator look like, B) Does it change when he zombifies, and C) Does he do an idle animation from Zombies Mode/any animation when he goes off-screen just before turning and attacking the glass? So, yeah, there's that. Keep up the good work!

Dont worry about your pronunciation of words that are never spoken in a FF. Bahamut is basically universal in how it sounds. Giving Yuffie a roofie is the way to go but Yuffie looks more like muffy. Ether is called eether because it is an actual substance unlike ehther. Aeris is like Eris but the TH is not in all versions so its all depends on what you want. basically, dont worry about pronunciation purists because they can't how the American South talks or Aussies, and have no comprehension of how dialects even form.

I was just thinking to myself, "Gee, a lot of videos are focusing on "did you know?" Final Fantasy facts. Then I saw this video and thought, "the subject matter has been exhausted. Videos have already been made about the story, strategy, Easter eggs, and even in-depth analysis. How does this video have so many views?" Having said that, this video was actually more interesting than most other video games. I'm not familiar with gaming code, but the presentation of the information had my attention and interest. It's such a niche topic (gaming code of fix), but it's easy to watch for anyone, regardless of programming knowledge.

I really recommend it. I don't like the new final fantasy ones in comparison, but the developers on the earlier final fantasy games really used every single resource they could have to make the most captivating and fun experience/story for the players. Play ff7, it's very cheap on steam, on the start it has that rpg thing where you are adapting to the game and the world, but, after some time in, it's like reading a great book. My favorite games are final fantasy 7 first, then final fantasy 6 ( for super Nintendo) and final fantasy 9 (psx as well). I didn't play ff10 thought (sorry), but what I can say from these 3 games I loved is that even thought they are from the same series, each one has their own unique world, style and story. Final fantasy 6 (It is called ff6 in japan and ff3 in western launch) starts with just you playing as a girl that lost her memory and has the unique ability to cast magic and is being pursued by the empire for some evil schemes. And when you have finished this 60 hour (at least) game, you get the feeling that you just read a trilogy of more than 500 pages each book. This Nintendo game, you will get about 20 unique characters on your group, each with their unique stories, personalities, and other unique details/abilities. One of the characteristics of this game I find unique is that the game isn't full happy fantasy, or drama, or creepy, but kind of borderline these topics and there will be ups and downs of these feels along the story. Final fantasy 7 doesn't have a story as large as the snes one. But I do enjoy it a lot as well, they have more tools to keep the player having fun not just with the story but also with the gameplay. The world is basically being dominated not by an empire, but a corporation called Shinra, that has products and services on everything, and the largest city on the world is simply theirs. One of the main issues with this company is that they developed a way to create mako reactors, which produce energy by sucking the very life essence of the planet, but giving them a lot of money and therefore power in the process too. The game starts with you playing as Cloud, a mercenary, working with an eco-terrorist group going to blow up one of these giant mako reactors. The story will develop waaaaaaaayyyy ahead than that. And it will be worth it. Final Fantasy 9 is the last ps1 final fantasy launched, it has a style a little bit more fairy tale almost, where technology has a steampunk style other than cyberpunk on the most of the others. There are humans, rat-people, black mages, hippopotamus people, fish-face people, giant castles, nobles and princesses, etc. Starts with two parallel stories, the first being you playing as Zidane, a human with monkey tail for some reason (there's an actual reason) being part of a group called Tantalus, which are heading on a flying ship towards the city of Alexandria to make the theater presentation of the famous "I want to be your canary", and while the queen and everyone else is distracted with the play, they will kidnap the princess. The other parallel story is you playing a tiny black mage called Vivi, that is a bit shy but just arrived at the city of Alexandria with his ticket he acquired eager to watch the famous "I Want to Be Your Canary" play. I absolutely love everything on this game, the story, the gameplay, the soundtrack, the world. It's not badass like ff7 but it is great. Final Fantasy 8 has more of a romantic style to it. I admit it is quite unique from every other final fantasy too, but I didn't get as much fun playing it as I did these other ones. Play Final Fantasy 7, and if interested, I recommend ff9 as well, both are on steam for pc, they are great. Far more hours well spent than mmorpgs nowadays. I will even show these games to my kids and be the lame old boring dad they will probally think of me, but I will.

I do really like the more polygonal and blocky design of the characters, not sure why though. I'll need to play this on an emulator sometime! great video man!
