No sponsor this time so i can say whatever. Dude the audio recording was CURSED this time around. Took a whole day to record and edit. Then I find out a ton of it was peaked audio, clipped words, missing recording, weird stratchy stuff. It made me so sad because i know this vid will be a special one but i hope you guys dont notice too much. Tried to spruce it up. Anyways this may be my favorite video of the year. I mean how often do i get to take a game i loved from 1996 and in a weird way finally get to look at it from angles ive always wanted? NEVER is the answer lol. I freaking loved making this vid. and I hope it comes across for you guys too. Always reading your comments. Thanks so much for all your support and kind words over the years. Its the biggest highlight of what i get to do.

You can see that detail in the "original" if you look at his character render. So much about those original 3D models reveals so much about these characters, Booster has a lazy eye and that doesn't come across well in the sprites, for example.

That's easily the best looking classic Link model I have seen. I'd have much rather seen _this_ classic Link model in LBW instead of the one we got. Honestly if we were to get another top-down Zelda, I'd love a more fleshed out, properly built model like this (even if its not a full model, its clearly not chibified like LBW or LA) and have properly proportioned characters.

it's been years and you still get surprised at things like good textures that you can't see ingame, or models that are fully modeled even though they aren't visible. you know, the modeling tools don't come in the isometric perspective... when you're MAKING the models, it would be way harder to make it culled from the get go. you just make a normal model and THEN cull it as necessary for the game. making a "high quality" texture is also probably easier than a good low res one.

Dude... As a long time fan, that section of Booster's Hill legitimately shocked me, like jaw dropped. It was like seeing an animal you've never seen before where it all fundamentally makes sense but doesn't follow the logic of any related species. Can't believe KZbin is getting screwier with the notifications but I'm glad I still managed to catch this episode fresh excluding the clips you put on Twitter. This might even be my favorite episode of the year too given how much there was to see, especially Link's low key breathing animation that was separate from the blanket moving. Not only that, it's getting me excited for the effort and quality of other Nintendo remakes, so now my mind is racing with how fun an episode would be of The Thousand Year Door.

The reason why some parts aren’t textured but still modeled can be explained easily. 1) Not having a texture saves memory resources. 2) Having the model is important for light mapping purposes. And while it’s true that you could create your lightmap and then have that wall not render while keeping the previous lightmap data, it would be too much hassle to keep track of. Lastly, when creating something like a house, it’s easier to create the whole model rather than leave out parts of it. Hope that helps clear certain things!
