It’s our very first time in South Korea! Wow, it feels so good to be here! In this video we take you on our first day exploring Seoul to give you our first impressions. Seoul really really blew our minds and it felt like a dream destination for us! Insane wifi, endless coffee shops and the FOOD!!! wow each bite is bursting with flavour! We explore the Myeongdong area, the older part of Seoul and even wear a traditional hanbok all whist visiting the Bukchon Hanok Village and Changdeokgung palace, this was such a fantastic way to integrate ourselves into Korea! Shev felt like a princess in her Hanbok!

In fact, in the middle of winter in Seoul it often drops down to -15 degree, so you should avoid traveling to Seoul during winter season. But it is way warmer in Busan which is the second biggest city in korea and it's also full of many attractions as Seoul is, so if you are vulnerable to cold it's better to visit Busan during winter season.

Seoul is my #1 place I still want to go in Asia. I was supposed to go before I went to Thailand in February, but it didn't open until April 1st so I missed out. I'm also going to stay in Myeondong so that I can go to that good night food street market easily. My favorite Korean food is dolsot bibimbap (let the rice at the bottom get crusty in the hot bowl). What fun!

It gets cold in Korea from November. If you don't have winter pants, be prepared for the cold. In winter, the pants that Koreans took look thin, but the inside of the pants is soft and fluffy, so it's very warm. Winter pants are essential. Otherwise, you can easily catch a cold, so be careful. Have a good trıp.

Congratulations on your trip to Seoul. I just got back from South Korea about 4 weeks ago. Back then the weather was beautiful. Be sure to see the Gwangjang Market, near station 5 on the blue line. Namsan Tower (that big radio tower and observation deck you see on the mountain), Lotte World Tower and Aquarium, a visit to Namdaemun Market. You need to try a hibachi dinner, bulgogi (thin sliced beef, or pork) cooked over hot coals in the middle of your table. I also like the BiBimBap dishes (meats and veggies over rice, served in a hot stone bowl).

All Koreas have Hanbok for special occasions like weddings and birthdays, both children and adults, male and female. Just returned to Scotland from Korea after visiting my first Grandson who is 5 months old. In Scotland, we have Kilts, similar in many ways as its a celebration our history, culture and identity. The food stalls set up and open once the Businesses have closed around 5pm and stay open until about midnight, longer at weekends. You looked so happy to wear Hanbok, Korean people will love this.

Welcome! Thank you for enjoying Korea. Some soup dishes, such as kimchi jjigae, are eaten wrapped in rice. In fact, there are so many cuisines in Korea that it's hard to say which one is the best. Galbitang, Gamjatang, Budaejjigae, Japchae, Bulgogi, etc. will suit foreigners' tastes. If you don't mind the expensive ones, be sure to try Korean beef(hanwoo). Although not authentic Korean food, Korean-style Chinese dishes (Jjajangmyeon, Jjamppong) that can only be eaten in Korea are recommended. Also, seafood is cheap in Korea. In winter, eating raw oysters and grilled clams on the west coast is also a good choice.

Welcome to South Korea. You just missed the beautiful fall colors at the National Parks. While in Seoul be sure to see the Palace, Blue house (the President’s home, near the Seoul palace) and don’t forget about the multiple markets. The sights here range from the Silla dynasty on display in Gyeongju down south to the beautiful island of Jeju. Then there’s the Lotto Tower skywalk there in Seoul along with the war museum.

Wow, I commented before you arrived at the traditional Korean Hanbok shop. Shev, with permission from Dev, you did look absolutely and exceptionally beautiful in that outfit! What a great souvenir that picture will be... Korea does have a difficult history, having had a bad time under Japanese rule. I found the people to be so incredibly polite and honourable. And you can not bow enough. The more you bow, the more you are showing your respect and deference to someone, and you tend to bow more to older people than the young. This is what I was told when I worked at Samsung anyway! My fathers brother was involved in the Korean war, and in his 90's was invited back by the Korean Govt as a mark of gratitude. He couldn't go, but my cousin went, and she liked it so much, she learnt Korean and now keeps going back! It does look amazing. Such a stark contrast to the North.... Have an amazing time. Adrian.

Great video. I was in Seoul in early September for two weeks (with 3 nights in Busan in the middle of the two weeks) and had a wonderful time. My hotels were right next to each other (Travelodge City Hall, and The Thomas Garden hotel) in Myeongdong. I will definitely return to Korea one day, the people were so nice. Definitely visit the remaining palaces. For food, visit the local markets like Gwangjang market and you must try kimbap and Heotteok (sweet pancake). Have fun in Korea, one of my favorite destinations!!
