We bought two about 4 months ago, LT for my wife and the LTD for me although I'll probably never use the winch. No turbolag in fact I have to be gentle not to spin the wheels on pull away. 9 l/100km over 8000km. No regrets from either of us. The active safety systems are interesting. I love the fact that the car steers, brakes and do everything for me but it does require adjustment. It's a bit like an airliner, autopilot is on but it's a partnership aimed at keeping me safe. I'm spoiled now. Interior quality is excellent, the thing handles rough dirt roads daily as we live on a farm in the Northern Cape with no rattles. My wife's LT is more comfortable due to a different front suspension that gives me twin difflocks but again, I liked the looks of the LTD so that's why I went for it. I only considered the Hilux 2.4 4×4 as a possible alternative but that's too attractive for thieves and I would have felt cheated out of the incredible technology in the GWM every time I saw one. I never recommend cars because it's such a personal decision but I wouldn't trade mine for anything else. My wife says her car is the nicest vehicle she's ever had so that's a great relief. Happy wife and all that.

Then you will be happy to know the GWM Shanhai P-series 3.0-litre, turbocharged V6 petrol engine in the line-up with 260kW and 500Nm will be arriving soon to SA
But the 5 years you have mentioned is the one that is covered by their warranty. So indeed you are still going to see them on the road after 5 years. By that time you would have paid more for "popular bakkies" that are ridiculously expensive that we pass on the roadside on hazards and waiting for a breakdown.

But we sometimes talk as if the other bakkies from the "popular brands" have don't have those "plastici things" while they actually do have......BUT they go for R250k more than the GWM bakkie. I will never ever buy those "popular bakkies" again. They are so overrated everyday and people shouldn't be misled by "popular opinion". Yes I have the money to buy them, but any financially savvy individual will never go and spend more unnecessarily. Anyway if popular opinion matters, it is only a matter of time anyway before any Chinese cars become "popular" as well. I mean it was the same with the Japanese products in the 70s and 80s, they were regarded as "Japanese Junk" and popular cars were those from European countries (e.g Italy, Germany and England) and American. I would advise people to look into Chinese cars including this bakkie and moreover to go and test-drive them over and above these youtube/internet opinions.

People who have never test driven the vehicle always quote someone else who has also never driven it. In the 1970,s everyone said don't buy the Hilux because it,s Jap Crap. Those who did discovered to their surprise that it was reliable and durable. Many years from now some people will see this bakkie on the road and realise that it,s actually durable and that they lost out based on someone else,s opinion.

You really do get what you pay for in life, and you don't often realise that until a little later. One of the few benefits of a P series, in keeping with your sponsored theme, is that there is no demand for them in the criminal world. INSURANCE saving is big on Hilux or Ranger.
@sithabelamandlawenkosiwodu629811 ай бұрын

@bayandamsweli200511 ай бұрын
@@mvubu6823 older. The 3.2 to be exact. So it’s the worst engine of the range, hence it was discontinued mid lifecycle. I also have a Bantam. The engine is great but everything else is made of brittle plastic that just snaps on a hot day. But I’m not about to make a youtube video on how my Bantam or Ranger sucks.
