FZD missed a fair bit of tournaments lately, so he's only ranked #6 globally on points (ittf deducts points for not playing). At first, I thought he was recuperating from injury but now was most likely to let the young guns gain experience on the world stage. However, this match shows he's undeniably able to retain #1 or 2 under normal circumstances. He served a couple of new spins here to set up lethal third ball attacks, showing that he's not idle or retiring as a lot of fans were speculating. Love and congrats to both of them, no matter who wins. Awesome techniques/tactics/spirits/sportsmanship. Cheers from Sydney Australia.
