when he got personal it really hit different, as someone who stumbled into the vtuber rabbithole when i reached a really low and lonely point in my life, shien and the other holostars really helped me pick myself back up and face my struggles head on. ive grown so attached to shien especially because he was the first holostars member i watched. when he said "you're not alone" i literally started bawling bc thats really the words i needed to hear before i found holostars. i dont regret finding him and supporting him with any spare change i can find whenever i can. he and the other boys work so hard and it doesnt go unnoticed. cant wait to see where this journey takes all of us together 💜

Shien is definitely my favorite. Both him and Kazami Kuku from Animare share something in common like how they are good at impersonating characters voices and good comedians overall, especially when they react to a certain moment in video games like in the collab when they played Last Card (UNO) with Yugioh impersonation. I've been jumping around streams across the holostars since december when I fell into the vtuber rabbit hole, and to be honest I felt that Shien was one of the wholesome goofballs I've came across. Honestly I felt really bad throughout the whole stream because I can't join the membership (being a college student sucks), but I wanted to be there as a supporter of Boss so it was quite a dilemma XD. I really hope that he would continue to be a vtuber in years to come, because someday I would like to pay back for what he have given us!!!

Ahh, truly thank you for clipping this. Watching this moment in real time was so special, so I'm glad others can see it. Shien has held a special place in my new vtuber interests because of how genuine and engaging his streams feel. Needless to say, he's offered a lot of comfort for me in these past few months. Sometimes it’s their lack of faith that people will join their memberships, but in the case of Shien, his fans made him promise that he will open his membership in 2021. I kinda don’t blame holostars in this regard because comparing them to their sister branches, Hololive(JP, ID, and EN), they are small and don’t have the subscriber fan base to confidently do big things like memberships. Thankfully, they are steadily gaining popularity, but it’s still an uphill battle for them.

Depends on the person. Astel hasn’t opened up his membership yet, and he’s been streaming for over a year. He talked about it on his last APEX stream yesterday, and how he wasn’t sure the benefits to membership outweighed the negatives. It was actually really sweet, since he didn’t want those who didn’t or couldn’t become a member to feel like they didn’t belong, or were less than those who didn’t.* I think he’ll end up opening membership eventually, but being thoughtful about this kind of stuff isn’t a bad thing. Sometime after April. Not sure about Shien, but if the comment above mine is correct it makes sense. Holostars has been through a lot. The worst has happened. Your fears coming to life yet again would make anyone pause. *my JP isn’t perfect so I may have gotten some details wrong here.

Yeah it depends on the vtuber bcz rikka and oga (same debut with shien) had their membership opened right away And yup, some holostars mem r scared to open. Like son, nervous when he opened his and said in the stream wondering if someone would be a member There's also some vtubers who doesn't want membership bcz they want the viewers to purchase the merch or cd theyre selling instead of paying for memebership (ex. Mayuzumi Kai, Tsukino Mito, kenmohi touya, more and Tokino Sora as well since her membership is already in nico nico douga. She doesnt want to double the viewers' pay)
