I've always bought extra fabric for my projects. Usually a third yard. This allows for shrinkage and any mistakes. I will probably make. Learned this in home economics. IAM 79 years old.

When I am sewing my binding to the back I use a binding with a phalanges, love the way this looks. Easy to do and looks good.❤
