How to install a shift link bushing on an 02 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

According to the directions in the package, this is the proper way to repair it. I got the lock and secure lock when I did it this way.

This looks backwards - the “big” orange part goes on the side with the metal stud, which fits over the stud. Then the “smaller” orange thing goes on the other side, snaps on so the linkage does not fall out.

I twisted the new bushing while pushing it in the cable end, went right in. Didn't need pliers. It was crushing a little when I tried pushing it straight in.

Also when you can't get it to fit into the cable hole like that without collapsing on itself you can just shove down the ledge off orange plastic burning tip. Mine was slightly oversized and started collapsing like that also on 2004 trailblazer. I found the easiest controlled way to get it shaved a bit to fit better is to just rub tip of the orange bushing on concrete like used to shape popsicle sticks when we were kids. Works perfectly, just go slow, it only take a little.

He installed it backwards. The flange on the first orange piece goes toward the lever side.

Another misguided video. He put it in the lever backwards. Soak the orange bushing in hot water before installing it in the cable holder.

3 minutes? Pretty slow. Maybe crank some SLAYER to get you going instead of that boy band crap
