VinFast, a Vietnamese EV company, announced in 2022 that they would be building a huge car and battery manufacturing plant in NC that would employ 7,500 people. They just announced there will be a delay and nothing will be starting until 2028. I'm expecting delay will turn into cancellation either this year or next.

I literally hate EVs because they represent a mass formation psychosis in which people have been duped into believing that the end of the world is imminent because of "climate change" and meanwhile there are wars everywhere that are killing people and causing mass migrations. The largest carbon emitter is the military. Some of the same people driving EVs are cheering wars in Ukraine and Gaza.

Back in 1988, about a month after I took a delivery of my 1st brand new one 4-wheel drive , Isuzu Trooper-II, during my trip home from work in Waltham, MA it was heavy ice storm, when I turn on my windshield wiper, it stopped working, I pulled over to my Isuzu dealer near my office in Waltham, MA and asked for help to fixed motor of wiper. They told me that my warranty does not covered the wiper during the storm since it was considering "act of God" and I ended up paying for this service. This was my 1st warrenty claims and it was denial and I have to pay up front fee at the dealer.

I've heard all kinds of horror stories him and his customers have told me about companies that most deem of decent quality and reputation, refusing to honor warranty claims that should have absolutely been honored.

Just got a new vehicle but opted for a conventional ICE powered one over EV. The lack of charging stations and time it takes to charge, dangers of spontaneous combustion and EV fires being difficult to put out, range anxiety and the enormous cost of doing repairs among other things fueled my decision (no pun intended). I'll probably be open to considering an EV when manufacturers come up with acceptable solutions to those issues.

I inquired online about buying a new gasoline car this week and the replies were so stupid and greedy I just had my old car repaired amd told them to stuff it. I said up front I didn't want any dealer added options and every proposal had clear coat, theft devices and other junk. The general public must be stupid if they go along with this.

Fisker was better built than teslas! Only issue (major issue) was that it had to be connected to fiskers WI-FI connect to run! And if it went off line the car would shut down! And they would just stop in middle of road! Possible accident issues! That’s as far as the safety went. They’re stable and sterdy cars. Even tho they’re GM-ford scrambled parts thrown together 😂

There should be an investigation into this company. Someone once gave the a valuation of 2.9 billion dollars. Turned out to be a poorly run hollowed shell of a company that was never going to be profitable and didn't even have their own factory. Now thousands of people are driving $50k-$60k+ vehicles that are not even a year old and only worth $5k at best.

@@deusvult6632 what they call climate change is just changes in weather that is typical. I looked into weather stats on my area and we had hotter weather in the 1920's to 1940's than today. Not even close to as bad back then. In the mid to late 1990's I couldn't ski because there was no snow and was too warm even in January and February. We've been having average snow and temperature winters for the past 10-15 years and skiing into March.

they've installed computer system back in 2015 which control the emission system but it gave American Government problem with the emission scams so VW had to stop selling diesel cars immediately. some of the unsold diesel cars either been destroyed or sent to Europe.

From WC, You know it is strange, if I understand correctly my 2005 Honda CR-V and my 2003 Ford Ranger puts out more pollution than a 2015 VW Diesel but my vehicles are legal and the VW Diesel was subject to heavy fines in the millions or billions, I guess it just doesn’t make sense to me?!

I saw one of those Fisker 'Ocean' SUVs about a week before they filed for Bankruptcy. It reminded me of a Land Rover Discovery, only more overpriced than the Land Rover and probably less reliable (if that's possible). That's probably the first and last time I will see one on the road.

The approach to building the EV market was not well thought out, they should have concentrated on local commuter vehicles (less than 100 miles a day) the vast majority of pollution from vehicles comes from local commuting and wouldn't require any change in infrastructure to support it and the vehicles could be sold much cheaper!

And they are crap today! Bought one for the kids last year, broke down after 3 hours, sent it back, got it back repaired, and 2 hours later...it's now collecting dust. Can't be bothered with that chinese crap.
