Dude, I love your work! Bought a few of your Proxxon tools and, as a complete novice and being very worried about getting it right when building them, felt like they all piece together really well (even if I had to reglue a couple of pieces due to my own misunderstandings of, and lack of attention to, the instructions xD). Your work is also incredible which makes me so happy to now be able to learn from you so thank you very much for your videos. Between you and bmc I feel very confident I will be able to learn many of the ins and outs of your craft :D

A very useful video, thanks for making it! I think the 12 sided shape would be called a dodecagon.

I have a hard time getting a clean rectangle or square piece when starting with a piece that isn’t square. So simple, but frustrating.

@@Shiftinglands have you ever made such video? I can't find anything that covers that problem. Sadly the foam I get via delivery comes damaged all around so it's pretty hard to make it clean

In woodworking, to get that first cut square, we use a sled. It seems to me that then the principle would work on foam. Use a piece of plywood with a factor straight edge. Double-sided tape the ragged edge just overlapping the boards edge. Use the boards straight edge as a guide. Cut off the raggedy parts. It should be good for a reference for you other cuts. Don't leave the tape on, too long . It becomes more tougher to remove.

@@Whetold i had same problem when using it to cut squares, rectangles. Not sure how they do with wood working, but for foam and proxxon. Well, if the piece is not very tall you can just use a ruler, draw a line and pass your blade halfway in that line. Than you can snap to break it with a clean and straight cut. But if the piece is very tall and not much wider, then: the same side but close to the wire, do like 1-2 cuts maybe 3, not very thin but also not thick cuts. You will evebtually get a straight edge/side and then is just make the cut on the other side because you already have 1 straight to guide you. I saw it years ago from Black Magic Craft (you can search KZbin, you will find the video). It worked perfectly.
