This information could help many people to take care of their dogs. And I have a few question. You use a brush for humans. Isn't it a little bit big for the dog's size? You move the brush horizontally most of the time, but why not vertically? We are now new KZbin friends, and I'd like to learn more from you.

I'm glad you find this helpful. I used a finger cover one that came with the toothpaste set before, but my dog didn't like that. I think you can use human brush, kids brush or simply cloth as long as your dog accepts it. I agree we should brush virtually, I do that sometimes when she allowed me.

MoMo was a rescue dog too. We adopted her from Taiwan close to 8 years ago. The training takes time just be patient.

Your shih tzu’s are so cute💕💕💕💕!!!!! I have a problem though... At the first part I try to clean my shih tzu’s eyes but she won’t stop moving and she won’t stop biting when I try to do it! Any way to stop this when I’m cleaning her eyes? Edit: Also we got her when she was a adult

Try to bring the Q-tip near his eyes and then give it a treat. Then slowly do a little bit more each time...every time remember to give a treat to let them know "cleaning=treat" so it became a pleasure experience to them.

I have 2 Maltese fur babies. I do their eyes everyday with a tear stain face soap (all natural), and brush their teeth daily also. Amazon sells dog tooth brushes which have a smaller head, and makes it easier to maneuver around the mouths of small dogs. Your babies are PRECIOUS 💜🐾

@@lindaking4149 I started with a regular toothbrush for dogs. It's handle is long, but the head of the toothbrush is small, easy to get their back teeth. They will be 7 years old this summer, I've been brushing their teeth since they were puppies.

@@lindaking4149 I did! The younger, the better. They get used to it quicker. Just make sure the toothbrush head is small enough to fit in their mouth. They will bite it at first, licking the toothbrush, wanting to taste the toothpaste. That's fine, they have to get used to it. After I brush my boys teeth, I always give them a little "treat". It will become routine after awhile, if you're consistent. I get my toothbrushes and toothpaste off of Amazon...CET toothbrushes and toothpaste. I have 2 Maltese fur babies, 7 and 9 pounds and these are small enough for their mouths. I hope this helps and good luck!!

I do twice a day...around 9am and 7pm. If you want to feed once a day make sure the amount is enough for their size/weight.
