After having so many problems with regular dogfood Chilli is finally able to eat food without getiing sick.

I have a new shih tzu puppy and planing to feed raw once he goes down to eating only twice a day. He is only 8 weeks old and I free feed right now because I am not always going be home when it be time for him to eat. This is the only 3rd day he has been home.

I feed my 3 year old Shih Tzu mostly canned dog food. I also feed it lots of bananas, guava, apples, and blueberries. I feed my dog half-steamed veggies like carrots, cabbage, and broccoli. But for "meat" based food, I give her canned dog food. I'd like to change to a raw diet, but for some reason, I haven't had the need. perhaps when she gets older. I don't know. Can I feed her 3 days of raw meal and 4 days of kibble? Just wondering. TY

Cute little dog.I feed my 3 toy dogs and cat a raw diet.The dogs do get a couple teaspoons of baby food sweet potato and blue berries every week.The cat gets all raw meat with bone.All look great no more scratching,no passing gas.breath &body dont stink anymore,less poop.

chicken back bones and fat are completely digestible, no need to cut any of them off, unless your dog has issues with to much fat from the skin ( loose stools). It's a little cheaper for you to raw feed a very small dog haha, I own an american pitbull terrier that is very active so, it does cost a bit more to feed her raw as well. I only feed her grass fed/organic animal proteins also.

This video is pretty old. Chilli still eats raw food, but I add a high quality fish omega oil (get from vet - not from health food store or pet store). Raw fed dogs also need a enzyme supplement once in a while). Veggies are not really needed (from all my research, but others may have different opinions) but they can act as good filler if your dog always looks hungry (I fully steam any veggies so she can digest them). I also use home made broth as a soup filler sometimes if she looks extra hungry. I add parsley when I can because it apparently prevents UTI (This may be placebo - but since Chilli never developed crystals I keep feeding parsley just in case)

Hamburger meat is fine. Preferably un-lean, meaning, regular with no to very little fat removed. But in today's grocery stores, hamburger meat is made primarily for us overweight humans, thats why it'll be somewhat next to impossible to find regular hamburger meat. It'll be easier to find regular ground meat. Hope this helps

you can add veggies as treats but at a nutritional stand point they are not necessary. This diet shown is called the prey model raw other diets include the BARF diet, which is ground and imo is not better for dogs.

Hello, I now feed my shih tzu mix dogs raw, most of the time it is a pre-made brand called K9 natural. There are times when I make my own. I have become confused by all the information out there about how to feed raw, some say no vege etc, while others say feed vege and friut. Also some say feed only one meat, so don't mix the meats in one meal. For this reason I think it is easier to by pre-made well for me anyway.

Just saying the truth of what he/she said is that almost ALL people that had such problems didn't do enough research or was't trying to feed raw and gave the family pet a piece of meat and got stomach ache or they tried to just feed a dog meat without ever hearing about these types of diet and the dog didn't get all the supplements of organ or bone which caused such issues

Hi great video! I have a shihtzu who is about 4-5 years old.. I was feeding dry dog food mixed with boiled chicken and rice..she loved it but now is getting bored with it.. Is ok to give them lean hamburger meat?? So your dog doesn't eat any dry crunchys?

Somebody can be vegetarian/vegan and still feed their dogs raw. Also, beef tallow is not bad for dogs. It's just the fat from a cow. You should not remove the pieces of fat from raw. Dogs are not meant to chew, they are meant to gulp. Unlike herbivores, they don't have molars.

what do you mean?" does the owners recent knowledge has anything 2do with the dogs tolerance,?there are dogs that get serious skin conditions-rushes and can eat only fish orfish kibble,kibble is recommended bcoz its hard 4u to prepare a food with all the nutrients needed,and others that get milder skin condition problem+should eat very little meat and those cases are not rare either.Nothing in his message is unreasonable,Exclusive raw meat diet is a myth,Who made it popular anyway?

Just not sure - i fed my dogs raw meat and while they ate it all up quickly, they later vomited a substantial amount. I think my dogs are just not so into a raw diet?

Chilli did the same thing the first day of raw food. It took about 3 days for her to get completely used to it. I recommend you introduce it slowly, and make sure there is enough soft bone. Chilli does well with pork neck bones and the round ends of chicken drumsticks. If feeding beef, I have to add bone powder.

it wasn't "made popular" it is getting more publicity for both negative and positive so it is a personal choice but should be taken seriously and done only if for full time and if people supllement with vitamins and minerals in case they didn't ration the meat bone a organs correctly or they can buy a pre made if they are not sure of them selves or have time for research to get it perfect so it isn't for every dog no but if possible the healthiest and safest options. dog, chicken, lamb & buffalo are perfectly normal items a feed a dog. There is a reason that dog food companies do not try to market seal meat to dog owners. Most civilized people would be disgusted by the thought of it and it would be boycotted. All the items that are in this video are commonly sold at almost every supermarket. No supermarket in any civilized city, sells seal meat or polar bears, which I assume are very fun to kill and eat for people like yourself. Trying to compare chickens to seal is ridiculous. Do you realize that 35 countries have sanctions on Canada because of the barbaric nature of seal hunting. Why are you so proud to be in one of the most hated groups in the world? We have lots of seals in Vancouver that come right up to the boat. Nobody kills them just because they are hungry and the seal looks tasty. That is not an excuse, especially when it looks like there are so many other seafood choices in your area. (from the looks of your playlist)
