I found my now 11 yr old boy at the shelter five years ago. He quickly learned sit, paw (shake), up (standing on hind legs), down (lay down), off, and leave it. Grooming is my ONLY complaint. He loves his bath and being brushed, and will tolerate me trimming his bangs. The rest of the grooming process... you'd think I was trying to kill him!! He's an otherwise perfect boy for me, and I wouldn't hesitate to get another one day, though I'd like to get a puppy in the hope that I won't have to deal with his fear aggression due to the abuse and neglect he was rescued from when he was five.

I love the breed, but they are impossible to train. I have an 18 pound cockapoo/yorkie mix that quickly learned to shake, sit and roll over, while my 8 pound shih tzu won't do any of that at 2 years. I feel bad cutting Mandy (aka DEmandy) down to skin regularly when I fail to keep up with grooming and matting occurs, but her getting cold when let out is the only time that prevents her from ignoring the purpose of being outside and having an accident shortly after being let back in.
