@@GroomHouse I highly suspect the dog to be a Hungarian Puli, a mopdog, it's a very common breed here. You did the right thing to shave it's fur, because it was a really bad shape even for a Puli. Just be aware that this breed's fur cords naturally, and grows much faster than normal. Their dreadlocks are very high maintenance to keep them clean and nice. Otherwise a very healthy breed. I just wanted you to know that for them the dreads are a wanted things, and not the sign of neglect. But this dog's dreads were beyond saving so you did a good job shaving it.

I had a dog like that. Just as calm and cooperative as could be. Gentlest soul I ever met in my entire life. Groomers and vets were crazy for him because he was so easy and sweet. This old boy here seems same. What a doll. So very happy he got the care he needed and deserved.

It wasn't just excess weight. Severely matted hair like this dog had can pull the skin very tight and even cause small tears in extreme cases. It's very likely that this dog was in some degree of pain until all that was removed.

I am so glad that human kindness still exists. What a sweet boy, I'm sure he fells 70 lbs lighter and so much more comfortable. Carrying all that nasty dreadlocked hair around was probably hot, heavy and I'm sure pretty stinky. What a good boy he was through the whole wonderful ordeal. He clearly felt the kindness and the love, Bravo to the person that help this little guy. He looks fantastic. I absolutely adored him. I hope he got a nice home and can spend the rest of his life being pampered and loved to make up for the suffering he endured. The love and the patience this groomer took with this dog was immensely excellent! The dog was so calm and still, as of he knew this woman was an Angel taking care of him! Looks almost identical to a dog that showed up at dark, while I walking a dirt road next to my home I was living at in the country in 2015. At first thought it was a small cub. I got him to follow me home. Someone dropped him off. His fur was almost just like that. He was hungry and tired, could tell he was in pain from all the hair matted. I had never groomed a dog before, I was on a mission to get him feeling better. All places were closed, I couldn't stand another minute waiting for him in discomfort so broke out electric razor, scissors, razor I used is uses for humans but it did the job thankfully. I could slowly see life come back to him as hair was coming off. I think he knew I was trying to help him. Took me roughly 6 hours to complete groom, followed with a bath. His personality was a happy camper when done. I'll never forget that amazing experience, I think of it often. So glad he came into my life. I Thank You so much for all you do for those precious babies, very much appreciated.

What a wonderful thing they did for this dog. He was incredibly calm and grateful through the whole process. The people who rescued him and the groomer all deserve cuddos.

You can almost FEEL the wonderful relief as the dog feels the fresh water on his skin...heaven!!

Look at those teary eyes...so full of gratitude to this lovely couple who gave him a good shave and clean-up. My heart cried at the first look when he was all shabby and unkempt but after the 'makeover', I felt such a sense of relief and happiness along with the dog. Thank you for making a GREAT difference to this dog's life. :)

He is so cooperative. I think he is so happy that someone is finally nice to him, that anything goes. He will be a wonderful friend to the lady who adopts him.☺
