Moved to NZ in 1997 through a marriage that;s still working. Got my first job there as Head of Ents Dept in The Warehouse. (Auckland Downtown Branch) You guys had some great stuff coming out of there. Shihad, Bic Runga, Salmonella Dub, Stinky Jim was doing some nice DJ-ing about the town,. Darcy Clay was cycling around on K Road, Dobbyn made The Islander and Mr Finn came out with Try Whistling This. Saw some great gigs there from touring bands as well: Massive Attack, Foos, Blur, Van Halen, Bloodhound Gang, Prodigy, Pantera and COC, NIN, Regurgitator, Portishead, RHCP, I would like to thank you all for the amazing time I had there.

Woh that's an impressive list there & no wonder "amazing." I'm guessing a lot of those that you saw = big nights & perhaps days to recover afterwards. Also a stack of unforgettable & irreplaceable memories of those good old days. What would you rate as your fave, the best and/or memorable of that lot?.

@@Jesso_21 Sorry - very late reply. Don't log on that much. Really hard to answer this. All in their own way were all of the above. But I think for me, the standout would be Blur. Picture a lad, a long way from home, no internet, just a landline phone I couldn't afford to make many calls on. Getting homesick. Albarn comes out, says we're very jet lagged and they proceed to rip Northshore Events into pieces with something so GB, but also Universal. But I could give you an essay on them all. A strange one is on my second ever night in NZ, my wife took me to see Ben Elton...St James, I think. Culture shock within culture shock :)

Got an invite to see the band at San Francisco Bathhouse - no prior warning of the battering my ears would receive in a small venue like that, but the music blew me away. Still lovin' it!!

Love this song so much. I put a playlist up sometimes for when I am mashing mindlessly in a video game, with this song, Run, Freak by Silverchair, All my Life by Foo Fighters and other heavy bass hard rock songs and just blow my ear drums off.

The ABC use to be the primary source of promotion for this music genre in Australia, this is no longer the case as its now lgbtiq controlled and on the attack against heterosexual men and the straight family unit.

I met jon after a gig around 2005 for a youth concert. Maybe 200 kids at the show but even after playing the biggest stages around the world they blew the roof off. Such a good bloke. I told him I got into them thru my older sister and seen them at the bdo when I was 14. He was as stoked as I was!

You guys, as a band, have such an amazing story. Not only the music (which is obviously awesome, and I've followed since the very early '90s) but also the name change due to global politics, etc. You have a story which most bands from your starting era don't have. Such a waste it's not out there published. You guys have sustained more than most band could ever survive. You all have something to be super proud of. All still together, all through the name change (I'm sure you've argued, but still together and doing what you do), and you own your music, you survived genre changes. True NZ resilience. The story could sell, don't you think?
