Hi Chloe! I recently adopted a 5 month old basset beagle mix named Piper. I did a lot of research on bassets before I adopted her but yours and Copper’s relationship solidified my decision. It’s cool to see another young woman in her 20s with a basset :) I’m really excited to go on my own journey of growing and learning with Piper.

Oliver is so cute. I had a Shiatzu named Wally, I always had to wash his eyes twice a day, it was a lot, but if I didn't, he wouldn't be able to open his eyes.

I am actually in school full time working on my Bachelors degree in Psychology. Anxiety and depression is amped up right now because we are so restricted socially. I think it’s a great thing to talk about. You are human and you are a real person.

Your on the right track. Getting out into nature can definitely boost you psyche. If you like natural things, you can try diffusing lemon and peppermint oils for a boost too. Just another little tip. Another combination of oils that helps with depression is Joy, Frankincense and Lavender (3 drops of each).

I had a shih tzu/maltese mix dog and when he started getting tear stains I started using the powder Angel Eyes, sprinkling it on his food. It took a few weeks but it worked well. Then they changed the formula calling it Natural Angel eyes. Couldn’t tell any difference…..still worked for my Ollie. And FYI, I used alot less than it said to use. (1/4 teaspoon) on his total amount of food daily. BTW, your Ollie is precious. ❤️My Ollie passed away in May of this year. I was devastated. But on Dec. 18th I’m bringing home Bailey….an 8 week old Shih Poo. Can hardly wait! 😊❤️

I wouldn’t mind a video about mental health. I know dog’s can be very therapeutic. I struggled with my mood changes, and still do, but I know when I got my beagle she helps immensely in getting out of my head. Just the act of caring for an animal requires to get outside everyday, ensure they’re well taken care of, and in return you get an over abundance of love and affection from these sweet animals.

I used to bathe a dog's eyes with cold tea every morning for a week when they had eye problems that weren't serious ( ingrowing eye-lashes etc ). You could try that maybe. You done the right thing taking the break Chloe, although I worried ( like total strangers in cyber-space do ) that you had taken ill. Thankfully you hadn't. Little "Swifty" Lazar ( aka O;over ) looks a real Dandy after his scrub and polish. : - ) Regarding your thoughts on too much info. Yes, we have became over interested in shit that the media push down our throats without giving us any facts that they don't want us to know. I discovered too late in life that it's the little things that count. Every thing else is a distraction. The thing is that they are all around you, but we seldom realise until one or more of them are taken away from us. I hope you're keeping to your health regimen, by the way. : - ) There's still a little sadness in your voice, but hey, I guess it's just because you're back home from a break and in your head you're trekking trails and laughing in the air and just enjoying being you. Anyway, it's grand to see you back leading your little pack and talking about stuff. Copper tried not to show it, but I'm sure I saw him, paw in mouth and shoulders shaking when little Ollie was being scrubbed, and I'm sure I heard a distinct doggy chuckle. Shine on Chloe. You say you discovered too late in life that it's the little things that count; I don't think it's every too late. Some people live their whole lives without EVER realizing that. I am impressed that you heard the sadness in my voice but I won't deny it, I really couldn't expect to solve all my problems in one 5 day vacation anyway, right? HAha, on the up and up though! How often do you bathe Copper? I rarely bathe my beagle (about 1-2 a year) cause he's not fond of getting wet and bathing. According to a lot of other hound-owners beagles, bassets and the like mostly don't like swimming, bathing et cetera. Some of you who have another experience?

I bathe Copper probably about once a month, he isn’t a big water lover but he doesn’t really mind a bath. He sleeps in bed with me so that’s probably why I do it so much haha 💜

What do you use for flea medicine ? I have Garth going to his first vet appointment today for flea and tick puppy treatment and his first vet trip as my pup . Debating puppy flea treatments and if I should give a young dog chemicals until he is older . Simparica Trio says they are safe for puppies but they said lots of things that are not true 5 years later when it comes to dogs . Any hints and tips from a youtube dog star ? PS the Waterpik shower head is the best investment a basset/pet owner can buy for cleaning the nether regions of ones unders and making a basset clean and spiffy . Sinks are great for The Yips but for our heavy loose skinned beasts we have to get happy and used to kneeling to clean the big ears of the mighty basset hound which I am sure you already know . Men do not love it but girls and gay men seem more comfortable with kneeling before the tub for some reason and YES I am making a blow job joke ! Keep up the good work . This sounds terrible but I waited so long to respond because I couldn’t remember the flea medication...still can’t. But I give my dogs something they eat for fleas. And my cats get the topical if the dogs somehow get fleas and give it to them. Take care my friend 💖😎

I use the new simparica Trio eatable for fleas . Hank is now on a THC and CBD treatment for arthritis and Garth is on a regiment of play play play and play. For any cats I like to give about 1 oz of lead pellets from a distance no greater than 20 yard for best medical results(DOGS RULE ! CATS EAT YOUR FACE OFF WHEN YOU DIE ) . That is my medicine for all my furry buddies. See you next time on Coppers castle .
