Shimano Calcutta 100B round bait casting fishing reel how to service

Dennis, some of the Calcutta's instead of a bearing on the right side plate use a plastic bushing. The bushing can be upgraded to a bearing. I opened up two brand new Calcutta 400B's and one had three bearings and the other two bearings and one bushing. Kind of stupid, but that's quality control for you. Keep the videos coming.👍👍

@@bobbymiller1672 The nicest version (IMO) of the Calcutta reel is the CTE. Total Efficiency, they're smooth. There are a lot of Calcutta models that were made for the Japanese market or special order only. Good to hear you've had a chance to own or use one..

Hello Dennis --- Nice looking fishing reel too bad the person has way too much fishing line all bunched up and tangled - wonder how much trouble he or she had when reeling in a fish - like the way both side plated come apart to service it - good video .

This is truly a beautiful small reel with very big reel features. It certainly has a powerful drag. I am curious about how much plastic, if any, is used in the construction of this reel. If there’s not so much, which is what I’d expect in a Shimano reel, then I really like such a well designed reel with strong features that, though small in stature, seem to produce quite a powerful reel!- Chris (PS. Good to hear hip surgery went well. A knee cleanup surgery is coming in a week for me. Nothing major like you but pain does have a way of making surgery look like a good option.
