I bought a 201b in the late 80's or early 90's.Still using it,I've used it for everything from Bream to stripper and Red Drum.It's caught 1000's upon 1000's of fish.It's still casts real smooth but I do think the bearings are going to need replaced,they're starting to make a lil whine now.Might go ceramic

I have a shimano zeles 200 that is a similar but cheaper reel. I have a question about how to service the bearing in the magnetic brake side. It seems to have a non standard retainer. I will try to attach a photo but it seems to be a six sided clip

@@garryparker8981 How do you expect to post a pic to youtube? LOL Anyhow,I never heard of that reel,must be a overseas (non-US) model.If that clip is a pentagon (5 points) like a lot of the clips holding in the drags on reels then there should be 2 ends.Each point on the pentagon is recessed into a grove to hold it.With that,you take a knife,screwdriver,or some other small thin flat object and put it just on the other side of the point that is closest to where it's split and pry towards the center and upward.Do that at each point till you get the clip out,it should only need done 2-3 times till the clip will slide out.

my pinion gear is seized and I cannot extract it from the reel. any tips?

Is it frozen to the spool shaft? If it is best to soak it with a penetrating oil before trying anything else to remove it.

@@2ndChanceTackle wow what a fast reply! i love it!..... through further inspection i ended up tapping the pinion gear out with a soft hammer and oil, then found that the bearing was driven to far on to the gear (mashed on until stuck) and also the bearing was destroyed..... don't take your fresh water tackle blue fishing lol. Thanks for the timely reply!!!!!

Could you provide a link to this bearing if you have it available? My citica starting to have some bearing noise but not sure if it’s bad or just need a good service
