You made this so easy, I usually clean mine at the end of summer and the end of spring. But my K is making some noises coming from the internal gears, the gold piece with the 2 black pieces on it, it doesn’t look bad it looks great. But I can’t find the culprit of the noise, I will say after doing this my reel does feel way better

Andrew Wolf Probably your spool bearing underneath your pinion gear (the gold piece with the 2 black pieces on it). You usually don’t hear a noise when a gear goes bad but you feel it when you’re cranking. Bearings are usually the ones you hear squeaking when they’ve gone bad or need some oil

BA when I put the spool bearing on I make sure it is flat and flush , turns just fine . But when I add the “gold piece with the two black pieces” which I think you called the pinion gear , that’s when I notice a slight change , so do you think it’s the gear or the bearing ? The bearing is the first silver piece that you put onto the drive shaft (looks like a batting cage token) correct?

Andrew Wolf It’s hard for me to diagnose what you’re talking about without the use of proper terminology. The only problem with the reel is that it is squeaky, correct? It doesn’t feel gritty or chunky when turning the handle?

3:56 i found it's easiest just to put the star back on the nut after removing the spring and loosen it that way

Damn you use a ton of grease huh? Never given you any issues ? Also. I noticed the click plate has a flat side and a rounded edge on the other side. Which side faces down? Or does it matter. Thanks!

I’m having problems at the end.. where tightening the bolt to hear it click. I don’t fully understand. I tighten it and it clicks but when I tighten my drag it doesn’t click anymore. Am I supposed to leave the bolt more loose?

@@curtismcpherson4823try loosening that same nut he’s using in the lever area. I barely tighten mine at all. So it doesn’t press down too much. Might also want to play with the position of those 2silver pieces that are supposed to be positioned a certain way.. not sure what they’re called but mess with those and try again. And play with the tightness to where it clicks and in clicks when reeling in til you got it at the right amount

@@loshtx okay thanks bro I’ll try that after work and also my spool is weird I put line on and now when the thumb is up the lure come out like how it supposed to when the thumb button is down but it’s up and when it’s down the drag is their idk why it’s like that is it because there’s to much grease on the washers or idk thanks for the help

@@curtismcpherson4823 When i add grease on the drag washer, i usually add a very thin coat and even then I wipe most of it off with my fingers. Drag isnt supposed to be too oiled up. But it sounds like something is backwards. Theres 2 washers that are slightly bent and go together to control the drag tightness.. fidget around with which way they are facing, try different things with those washers and it should help. Ill be uploading my own video next time I take mine apart as i felt this wasnt as informative.

What kind of blue spray do you use? Is it for dissolving grease?

Ardent reel kleen it does an good job and I like using color because you if you have enough and make sure you get it all up. Hope this help

Visai Lor there might not be enough grease in there on the main gear. Is it loud?
