These videos are a real lifesaver- and reel saver. The order of assembly is very clearly explained. I couldn't get my reel to work right- until I discovered my yoke wasn't on correctly- and I had to engage the clutch to get it aligned around my pawl gear slot. After I did that- I reassembled and my Citica works great now. Great job on the video and camera work.

These are the absolute most important videos that any Shimano reel owner could watch. Shimano reels are the best, and come with a price tag that is commensurate with that! Why would you not take the necessary precautions to keep it working as it should for years???

Great videos. One thing that should be mentioned is that the Shimano reels with handle on the left side have handle nuts that are reverse threaded from normal. To loosed the handle nuts you must turn them clockwise. To tighten them, turn them counter-clockwise.

I watched another Shimano cleaning vid at the factory and they didn't clean the worm gear either. The worm gear and pawl are the #1 parts that usually fail and need the most attention. I pay more attention to my worm gears being clean and lubed more than any other part. I've been fishing hard over 50 years and seen which parts fail the most.

I target Puppy drum, Trout and Strippers, in the 12lb and under range, but they have brought in a few 20lbs Stripers as well!*

I ruined my Citica 201G6's anti reverse pawl. May I remove it and use reel without it, once it has anti reverse main bearing?

@bassfishin14 Bassfishin14, it sounds like your anti-reverse bearing is backward. That's the large bearing that fits inside the right sideplate. Take the sideplate off, and flip that bearing. That should take care of it.

No wonder they feel dry after being serviced. Everything is under lubricated. I like how he assumes everyone just wants the fastest free spool ever. Many people do infact care about all around smoothness. I love my Curado K but when casting it sounds like I've had it for a year already....

Ok so I followed you video to the T but now my reel handle refuses to even budge it's fine when the side plate is off but once it's on it will not work. What did I do wrong with it and how can it be fixed

@bassfishin14 Maybe your roller bearing is on the wrong way(the bearingin the handle side)OR the anti reverse plate(the metal thing underthe main gear)is on the wrong way and cant catch the anti reverse pawl

those "spring washers" that are cupped, must be put on correctly or you will have no gradual drag, you will have either no drag, or max drag. those spring washers give you that long gradient of drag pressure.

Try to clean the drag washers or get new ones that should work otherwise a part is not working

No wd-40? It says spray it with wd-40 after salt fishing with the tld50
