sorry for the late reply i think in this test it was only one CF brake and %25 magnetic braking but i was using mainly half number of the centrifugal brakes then tuning down the magnetic brake according to the weight of the lure, if there is no wind or tailwind i can go down to only 1 centrifugal brake but i noticed it is risky can cause a bad digging and cut of the line so safest to go half way or down to 2 CF brakes. you can go down to minimum magnetic brakes with 30gr or above metal jigs safely since jigs are very aerodynamic and easy to cast

Looking at this reel for 2-4oz swimbaits but not sure which of the 3 models would work best? 201, HG or XG? Any input?

now there is the new 300-400 md line for higher retrieve ratio id suggest checking those out since 201xg doesnt have drag clicker

it is definitely the most fun and easier casting rod i have ever used and will continue to , it is also very strong not a clumsy flexible rod , medium regular action bends very well and lets to fight with the fish as you please. best seabass rod imo but also very good for jigging

Yes absolutely, just rinse with warm tap water after each fishing session, light monthly and thorough 6mo maintenance it should be fine
