Great video! I have 2 older Stella 4000 FB's and 3 Calcutta bait casters. All in good shape and this video really gives great advice on how to clean, oil and lube. Went through all my reels after watching this video and performed some tips I've never done before. Thanks so much! Love Shimano reels!

Great video! Look forward to more Shimano school tips. With the ability to purchase Shimano globally. Is shimano considering to service JDM products in the US & CA? I purchased a few 16ALD BFS and hope that at some point Shimano NA will service JDM products.

Sent my sustain into the centre years ago and no joke, it came back like new. These guys are pros. For the price, it can't be beat. Being in Ottawa now, will need to plan a trip to Peterborough sometimes when visiting family in the GTA. Do you guys accept drop-ins on the weekends?

I have an SLX 151 DC that has a squeaky bearing….or something. I’ve used the bantam oil a couple of times but the squeak returns. Should I send it in for service and if so, how much does it cost for cleaning and/or bearing replacement?

I just got a brand new Shimano Nasci 2500 HGFC and out of the box it’s making this mid pitched friction sound. It feels smooth but that noise has me concerned for a brand new reel. Obviously there is some friction somewhere making that noise

I have bought several Shimano reels 6 all JDM but Shimano CA said they will not service them. What would my solution be? Not sure why Shimano would make reels and then not service them for US customers buying some of the more high end JDM equipment. Would Chris service my 21 Antares DC HG?

Bought a brand new Stradic CI4+, only little over a year old and on my THIRD roller bearing and bail spring broke, it was grinded right out of the box. Customer service was useless. Last one I buy.

While my Nasci 2500FCHG isn’t close to your model… out of the box it’s making a med-high pitched grinding noise. The reel is smooth but there is obviously friction going on… I’ve heard the mag seal can make it less smooth? I don’t know much about reels but I don’t think it should make noise like that out of the box brand new. I still haven’t even spoiled this yet. I’m wondering if it could just use a drop of Ballistol which is a high quality mineral oil that I’m betting is better than the Shimano oil

Yeah It took me about a year to chase down The Vanford 4000xg I found one out of luck one day had to drive almost an hour and a half to get it. There was no Bantum oil in my Reel box either

its imbarrising that shimno doesnt send a small bantam oil with expensive reels like vanford ( im so not happy with my vanford.. ) everything has to musch play .. i have aby precision oil that have to due

Oil the o ring before you put the handle, side cap and seal on the drag. This guy is a hack
