@@TackleAdvisors yea i have looked at the ZeeBass and love the simplicity along with the all metal, just not the price lol. I will probably go with the smaller one although the 3500 might work too. I am in the north part of Alabama so not able to fish the Gulf near as much as I'd like, but figure with the 2500 I can get double duty out of it up here as well since we do have decent stripe below Wilson Dam, nothing like up there but still times where people are pulling 30-50lbers out consistently.
@TackleAdvisors6 жыл бұрын
I've had a few Zees. Definitely not needed in FW. Whenever I fish heavy current I tend to go larger. The 4500 matches perfectly to the 9'6 tiralejo (and those tiralejo rods are cannons) If I remember correctly someone on sol was posting vids below the wilson damn...and some of the bass he was pulling out of there. They grow em large down there.

@@TackleAdvisors lol yeah I think I linked a Fox Sports Outdoors from this past spring on another vid when they were there. Unfortunately now the silver carp have been popping up on Pickwick, not bad but apparently just a matter of time when they get to an area. It's definitely not a bad spot. The stripe seem to love heavy current for sure, might have to stick with the 3500, would be better suited when i go to the Gulf anyway.

This is my only baitcaster I have had this problem with. Is this what everyone else has experienced? Do you think this mod will fix it?

Are you fishing braid.... 9 out of 10 times it's the braid slipping on the spool. Very unlikely it's the drag being inconsistent.. A few wraps of mono or a wrap of electrical tap in a balanced manner likely will resolve it.

@notsure83272 жыл бұрын
@Cerus98 that’s not an answer to the question at all. But playing the fish in heavy cover? It’s not a jerkbait. Anyone who has flippednheavy cover or punched a lot like the OP asked about, has lost fish simply by taking a second or two too long to bring them out of the slop, lay down, etc. having a heavier drag is akin to a H vs a MH rod. Yes, the rod is more important in controlling the fish, but if you’re modifying an SLX, you may not be a guy who can just buy a new rod solely for flipping.

Hey Tackle Advisors, quick question for ya. I was out fishing the other day using a jerkbait on my shimano Citica 200i, and every once in a while when i would give the rod a good jerk, the reel would "explode" on me if you will. The handle and the spool would all move backwards while the spool was engaged, allowing line to come out uncontrollably. Not quite sure whats going on with it but I would assume it has something to do with the anti-reverse bearing. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
@TackleAdvisors6 жыл бұрын
Hey Brad. Does the handle turn backwards? If you remove the spool. And look at the pinion gear where the spool shaft pin slots in. Is it free of debris? Is the side plate on all the way and how tight is your spool tension (the knob on the handle side)
@bradhamilton11266 жыл бұрын
Yes the handle does move backwards occasionally. Most of the time it seems the anti reverse bearing is working as I can’t just real backwards with it at any time. It only goes backwards occasionally when I jerk the rod and put some tension on the line. Other than that everything else is normal with the reel. I keep the spool tension where I would on any other reel and everything is free of debris.
