SHIMANO SLX UPGRADE TUTORIAL

In this video I take my new Shimano SLX Reel and I upgrade it with Spool Speed bearings and remove the bushings to turn it into a 5 bearing reel (Same as a Shimano Curado K) but I get a better bearing pack and it comes in slightly cheaper than an off the shelf Curado.

Great reel but I don't think this is really worth it unless something is broken and you need to replace one of these parts anyways. But I do love them for the price. Also been really impressed with the daiwa Fuego for about the some price. But neither will ever beat a curado. They are just built so much better and sturdier

Instead of buying reel and $60 in upgrades, why not just buy a curado? 0 casting difference when i had done this. Just buy a curado instead.

Hey I ordered the kit through your link and i replaced the 5 bearings you showed. But i got an extra bearing in my kit. 🤷🏽‍♂️

There is a bearing on the end of the drive shaft.

Really very much informative tips you gave bro. Kindly redo this whole upgrade process of upgrade to slx. Bcoz I'm planning to buy it here in india. Well from where we can get those bearings. Seems kinda strange to swap sealed bearings for non sealed bearings in a fishing reel.

Ceramic bearings don’t need to be sealed. They don’t corrode

Yes the slx is a great buy... But it's no curado and even with these upgrades with no pinion gear support, and mm gears it'll never run like a curado. It can be close.
