*Great **Latest.Bike** , good looking, good suspension and love the gearing. I've tested some bikes that were more then twice the price but not as good. Get lots of looks when riding.*

Just so you know Jeff, you had the old toeclips upside down! (4:20) The longer piece was on top with a strap running through it and the other, angled, end screwed to the front pedal edge. They were often used in conjucntion with a slotted metal plate fixed to the sole of the cycling shoes. I used them for about 10 years or so when I was a lad.

Right. I thought it was just a choice of random colors. Just bought some reds and noticed how locked in I was.

I have a normal look cleat and also a look kio on separate shoes for separate bikes, i have now obtained SPD shamino pedals. QUESTION ❓ Do i require another pair of cleats to suit the spd shamino pedals or are the look compatible???

To be fair the yellow cleats have a couple of times contributed to me falling off my bike when I have needed to unclip fast, the extra movement needed to unclip can be a drawback, next set I buy I’m going to try blue.
@hugodacosta4 жыл бұрын
Sorry to ear that. In my case, due to an ankle injury I have, the extra movement from the yellow ones helps me prevent to suffer pain when riding.

I also started with the yellow ones and find it quite difficult to get out. Always needs a lot of foreseith with traffic, especially inner city

I've had this system since taking up road biking 8 years ago. Replace my yellow cleats yearly. Just learned that blue and red are also available, and found this video. Great explanation. I'll probably stick with the yellow, but good to know about the other options. Thanks for the info.

Are there any difference in size of cleats? The cleats l have on my shoes seem to be too large for the pedal, and it does not go/attach to the pedal. Thanks in advance

Hi Jeff. That's really good to know. What I would like to know is what gives the float angle. They all look the same to me in the video. Thanks.

Hahaha it use to call toe clip pedal cage. Clipless pedal is shorten for toe clip-less pedals. And you where holding it upside down bud i understand.

You simply answered the two questions I have being trying to find answers for. 1- The difference between SPD and SPD-SL and 2- Why the hell these pedals are called clipless. Thanks a lot!

Thanks Jeff, I've been riding with the Yellow for years. Just bought new pair of shoes and shopping for new cleats as well. I was about to go with the red, thought it was just color. Thanks for the re-education, I'm going to stay with the Yellow.

I am new to "serious" road biking and people kinda force me into clipless pedals. First out with this yellow set up and one of the lateral yellow rubbers came off. Do they actually have a purpose besides helping you walk without messing up the cleats? Or should i get them repaired?
@AverageJeff5 жыл бұрын
GabKoost First off let me say that I know guys that are serious road cyclists still use sneakers and regular pedals are faster than me. as far as yellow rubber, I’m not sure about that, my cleats they are part of the plastic or Carbon of the cleat itself and is needed to clip been to the pedal so in my case they would need to be repaired

New to the world of clipless pedals here. Do i need to start with the yellow cleats, or is it ok to use the red cleats right away?

Wow! thanks Jeff. I didn't know anything about cleat colors before watching your video so now I am armed with information as I venture for the first time onto 'clipless pedals.'
@FatherGorgony3 жыл бұрын
I do not believe you. Because you are showing incorrectly how the clips on the pedals stand, namely upside down :-). second they are not dangerous at all. Probably because of People like you, the confusion in English turned out that those mounts on pedals with clips are called clipless :-). Cyclists probably in all countrieshave the opposite, because in Russian these pedals are called contacts as if there was no contact with the pedals before:-)
@iotioimping5 жыл бұрын
Thank you , I will buy the red one even if I am a beginner because the Pedals (SHIMANO PD-R540-LA) have the technology to unclip easy .
@AverageJeff5 жыл бұрын
Costin Alex Also remember that you can change the tension on the pedals to help you clip out easier as well
