Thanks buddy!!!!!! I’m looking at one right now. It up with a 7 foot mojo inshore 7 foot matched up with the 4000 sustain Thanks again I hope that three matching up the 4000 with a 7 foot rod

Great presentation, I will but a Sustain. Question. How many yards of 30lb, test braid does it hold

I think I have 300yars of 20lb so I would estimate 260-270 yards of 30#

You made a couple of mistakes when stating the specs of the reel, the new sustain FJ does in fact have micro module 2 (as does the vanford) and you stated the sustain has a ci4 body when it has the hagane alu body, which is the main differential factor from the vanford IMO. Not trying to discredit the video, just pointing out a few errors 👍🏻

basicaly they only have 2 size, small and medium 2500 = small 3000 = small, with deeper spool 4000 = medium 5000 = medium, with deeper spool is it?

The 5k has a power knob and the 4K has a T handle

@florida man outdoors what setup should i buy if i want to catch fish off piers off bridges off the beach i live in boca i fish derfield beach pier mostly and other piers and beaches witch setup should i use i plan to purchase a nice setup this summer would you say t his reel is good for mullet run or am i better of with a sargosa

I would run a Saragossa 6000 - 8000 with a med-heavy to heavy 8 foot rod. The sustain is great for the weight but during the mullet run you have no idea what you can hook up to.

The sustain is a better reel, it’s up to the individual if it’s worth the 70$ difference. The sustain is a more rugged reel and it’s only about an ounce heavier.

I prefer the sustain. I’ve gotten a lot of fish on my 5k and 3k and I’ve had no issues. I do think the Stradic is gold standard of inshore saltwater reels. You won’t go wrong with either one.

JDM Twin Power FD's are around 280-300 for the C5000XG size, would you take those over the Sustain FJ?

I believe the twin power was built to be more of a work horse while there sustain has always been a quality light weight. I have always thought of the twin powers to be a more durable reel. I can’t speak for FD since I haven’t owned or used one, but the XD TP is a very nice reel.

I know that Daiwa reels tend to be heavier for the 5k saltist it’s 15.3oz and the sustain is 9.5oz the daiwa spools tend to hold a lot more line also. The sustains are more built for an inshore work load and the saltist are usually more off shore. I’ll try and get my hands on one soon.
