I have 2 different Shimoda bags and love them both. Smaller Urban Explorer for the city and the Action X 50L for hiking

@@mallorydavisphotography the 50L is huge. I honestly wish I had something smaller in Action X line. The extra space does come in handy if I have a the dogs on a hike with me.

Bagaholic...me too! and yes, I find bags as an oddly necessary frustrating necessity. The two most elusive items for a photographer, the perfect camera and bag.

Excellent reasoning from a true camera bag-lady. :-) Rich content on what makes a good one for you. How many bags do you have buried in your closet??? My camera backpack starts with my ULA ultralight backpack or daypack. I customized every fit, function and comfort detail. I then add a camera insert (or inserts), like my Peak Design Camera Cube V2. My Comfyable laptop sleeve protects my MacBook Pro. Thanks for sharing your new Shimoda find, and I suspect you will have an even better bag story soon.

If the bag ends up being a winner, be great to see what’s in my bag video, interested if your still using the peak design tripod? Looked like a couple different ones against the wall in the background. It’s awesome there are bag options for women out there, that are better fit for their frames. I think every photographer has a bag problem at some point hahaha, thanks for sharing !

100000%!!! There are so many opportunities for organizing this bag so will definitely have that in the future. I am still using the Peak Design tripod, but prefer the Gitzo heavy duty one if I’m not traveling by air… maybe I should do a video on tripods at some point??

@@mallorydavisphotographyyes I think there would be a lot of interest in tripod video, as you cover both mobile hiking and more leisurely work when you all take airstream out at base camp etc, in content I’ve seen you put out, Ie your shooting style does not appear like a one trick pony (compliment meant)I think you could put out a value video on that - my 02 / cheers from CA

How is the breathability? I see you hike with it, so will one get soaked in sweat and feel like the back is in a sauna? I see you are also a cyclist, have you tried using this backpack when riding? Where would you tools, spares? Someone said they had the Explorer and it wasn't breathable. But what's your experience? I see the X40 V2 women's model on sale in a retailer in Norway, So I'm considering it for breathability if it's good. I've been told the regular model is hot and sweaty. But I want to do mountain bike rides in mid summer heat, like 30C, riding for 4 or 5 hours and not have a soaked back.
