It's closer t noucturn than it is to 2. It doesn't even have a SINGLE connection to 2

On a literal level, every game after 2 is a standalone soft reboot. The Amala Cycle is unique to Nocturne, Observation is unique to 4 and 4pocalypse, Knowledge is unique to 5. And many characters change backstories completely between games; just look at Louis and Satan, their backstories in all those games are completely incompatible. On a SUBtextual level, 5 is a sequel to Nocturne. A new version of Nihilo's Nightmare System is built, the story starts with Louis killing YHVH, and if you buy the DLC you get to fight Demi-Fiend with all of his Nocturne skills

This is one of the most unspeakably hard final bosses I’ve ever faced. It’s basically pure goddamn luck considering he can just eviscerate your entire party in one turn and if you use too many buffs the counter rolls over. It took me like 40 minutes to wear him down enough to finally kill him when I first played this and I never wish to do it again. Good game tho

As far as I understand it, humans' thoughts, faith and emotions are what give form to all demons, including YHVH. When YHVH tells Aleph that he will return, it is because he knows that humanity will always look for a higher being to be in control. The only way for YHVH to be completely destroyed is for all of humanity to be destroyed.

you get satan right before the final boss if you're law, you get lucifer if you're chaos and join him. If you're neutral you get neither, basically you'r on your own with the heroine and your demons
