Challenge playlist for Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance - Lowest Level / Mandatory Battles Only:
• Shin Megami Tensei 5 V...
A video in which I complete the transition from one relying on fusion accidents to get the strongest appropriate demons for the boss battle at hand to investing everything into dealing most of the damage with mag-stacked Nahobino. My demon roster remains the exact same from the previous battle, Oni being the only one in the active party to be above the MC in level. Indeed, his lower-levelled replacement, whoever that may be, wouldn't be anywhere as good for the role of the party's tank. All he does, though, is just sit there, take punishment and occasionally retaliate with Counter for okay chip damage. Kaya-no-Hime is now below, not above, the MC's level and stays present for the entirety of the confrontation, healing, attacking with Zio when the party needs an additional press turn and running the buff/debuff retard thing that this game draws from.
Ruinous Thunder is the strongest elec spell available to anybody at this point and is the MC's property alone. Inheriting Restore from a Cironnup essence, which I won't be able to renew by talking to a wild one for quite a while, the MC packs quite a punch the ten-level difference notwithstanding, and it's natural to take that a step further by keeping double Tarukaja on him at all times. There's not going to be any time to do the same for Yoko, who has an unboosted Zionga running off a nice mag stat herself, preserving Elec Gems, which would run out far too quickly. Because of its high cost, I still use Elec Shards not to have to spend too many turns using Chakra Drops, which impedes on the flow of battle.
Fionn is quite easy as a matter of fact. He can only strike single-targets on his non-Magatsuhi turns, Oni taking care of the punishment with relative ease. I use Fire Dampeners when the Magatsuhi attack is signposted.
By now, I reach the same point of the mandatory battles only challenge I did in the vanilla version of the game, meaning I can now beat my own progress. Realising the Nahobino is quite a force to be reckoned with this time around makes matters much better.
