The last time I replayed DD2 was a couple of years after it first came out, and just witnessing part of the ending shown in this video had me tearing up. What a great series.

This game is my favorite example of the JRPG trope of fighting god as the final boss. "Where your main character becomes a hermaphrodite and fights a giant space train who's god." Though don't you also meet up with another copy of yourself at the end indicating the whole thing is a giant cycle?

I think the idea is that Seraph is the being that ascends whereas Serph and Sera do not. As Seraph is technically their own person.

Great video, it was nice revisiting this duology through your video. I actually think Gale deserved to become the leader of the team, even if Argilla was more fit for the job, seeing as he was the character who got the most development, in my opinion.

Digital Devil Saga is kind of like The Matrix but inside out. Instead of humans placed in a (relatively) happy simulation by AI who escape to a dystopic real world, you have AI placed in a dystopic simulation by humans who escape to a (relatively) happy real world. Also this game makes me think about FFX *a lot* like I wonder if Atlus were intentionally or unintentionally trying to go for a similar vibe.

Awesome work. The SMT franchise was awesome in the 2000s, and had so many great games. It's a real shame SMT V landed last year like a wet cow flop, and Soul Hackers 2 has $40 in day one DLC. DDS will still be one of the best and most ambitious. So what's next for the channel? You're almost through the entire PS2 library already, right?

I liked what I played of SMTV, but yeah, Atlus is low key one of the worst in the industry when it comes to nickel and diming customers these days. It's a sorry sight for sure.

@@WREPS2GOG Want to know the worst of cutting corners? Count how many times you have more than five characters on the screen at the same time in SMT V. They spent over four years making the game and the results are pretty embarrassing from a technical perspective. You'll also notice there's no unique animations or really impressive vistas after the first area. It's a shame that after so many generations of consoles, it's a huge step backwards. I regret getting rid of my PS2 all the time. At least I have a lot of the games digitally on my PS3. Your channel is great. Keep up the good work!!!
