Dude I don't care about how it is, Shin Megami Tensei 1 is still my favorite. It was new back then, it may have aged however the experience did not.

this first game is very quite interesting! I've literally just started it in English with a patch on an emulator... it's really cool... I know what you mean man, I haven't played ANY of the games before and have only been introduced to it through an LP (Yuriofwindgameplay's Persona 3 LP) and wow it's just so interesting... I've been a longtime fan of Konami's Metal Gear Solid. SEGA's Shenmue. and Nintendo's MOTHER. but now it's time to move onto another great masterpiece which I believe will be

Atlus with its Megaten games has never disapointed me, i wish i could say the same with SquareEnix and Final Fantasy :/

Don't put nocturne with the others "persona, devil summoner, devil survivor ..." Nocturne IS PART OF THE MAIN SERIES: SMT III.

you're kidding yourself, SMT I is no way near the best one, the combat's clunky and mazionga/nerve bullets break the game
