However if you're going off how Japan names them (like I do,) only 3 of the games named in this comment are actually SMT and the rest are Megaten as a whole.

This music sounds like a boss theme, like a lot of people comment- but it's the random encounter theme! I feel that highlights how much of a struggle fighting demons is for someone that's just, a normal person, not someone like Demi-Fiend who was given powers.

And that's the beauty of it. Compared to other smt protag's it's a miracle a teenager can go through the shit they go through and somehow keep some of there sanity. Here there is no miracle to save you. Just your skills, Wits, and a whole lotta luck. You hope that at the end once shit hits the fan that you can just get out alive with your sanity in tact.

This game was going to be SMT IV at one point in time. But they changed the name to Strange Journey for a few reasons, one of which is that it didn't take place in Tokyo. I loved this game to death and I seriously want to find another copy somewhere...

I wholly agree. SMTIV is without question one of the best games I've ever played. I really got into SMT with SJ and Persona 4, went back and played P3 (which I like better for it's characters and story), and purchased a PS2 to get Nocturne and DDS1 and 2. I just finished SMT IV (mostly, trying to get that neutral ending is a pain) and Soul Hackers. I need to finish the PS2 games, get the two Devil Summoner games, and then play the SNES games (MT I & II, SMT I & II). I don't know if I'll ever play SMT ...if, not sure if it ever got translated. And once I get a PSP (or preferably a Vita) I'll play Persona 1 & 2. I don't think there's a game series I liked enough to buy hardware two generations old just to play the other games in the series. :P Here's hoping SMT V won't take 10 years to come out!
