Changing sylveons design to be more masculine and blue ruins the fairy typing, and also looks like the shiny version Vaporeons female part doesn't make sense bc the neck frills are used for moving in water, so making it seem as just a cosmetic type isn't useful. Eevee didn't need to be added, no need to do anything. Espeon didn't need to lose the Tufts of fur under the ears, Jolteon didn't need to get hair and a dress, and Umbreon doesn't need to look like a dog with a clipped tail. The person could've done much better with variants but chooses to use stereotypes which ruins many things.

@MADDISON MOORE It would technically makes more sense for the males to have flower. Males IRL tend to be flashier than the females. Takes the most famous exemple, peacocks. Females are brown with some shades of gray and green without a huge tails so that they can hides and run easier from the predators (same thing for the babies). In reverse, males are very flashy with tons of colors and a huge tails with eyes motifs to attract the females and scare away predators. Applied to leafeons, the males could have huge perfumed flowers as tails to impress the females. They could also use these flowers to project pollen and deadly toxins on their ennemies.

Actually look at the anime. Girls have eye lashes while the boys don't. The boys are more sharp or square while the girls are more curve. Even if it's a little. With the ones who have narrowed eyes they have extended eye lashes. Look at MLP. The female ponies that have long eyelashes compare to the male ponies.

Umbreon: I’ll admit, the female Umbreon looks a little strange, the droopy ears and the short tail I feel like don’t sit. Sylveon: It’s odd. Shiny Sylveon is blue and stop making the "females" so feminine and males so masculine. Please study sexual differences in nature when doing stuff like this! Though I can somewhat appreciate the artwork, the fact that these art pieces are so stereotyped bothers me. It strongly points towards gender roles in these designs (such as making all of the females incredibly girly and the males incredibly masculine). Doing things like adding eyelashes to the females, making Sylveon blue and yellow, et cetera, just don’t seem to work well. As much as I love the male sylveon’s palette, it simply doesn’t fit the Pokémon. Making the females prettier than the males also somewhat detaches itself from biology, as in nature, males are often prettier when it comes to sexual dimorphism. This is reflected in Unfezant’s design. These could have had the potential to be very creative and interesting, but instead, they just seemed to be very gender role stereotyped designs, and even though some archetypal things can be used well, stereotypical things make it feel subpar and unoriginal. I feel like a more biological and less societal approach to the designs would have benefited them greatly. (I apologize for the poor grammar and sentence structure, it’s currently very late at night for me! ♡)

Especially eveelutions and that's what my comment was pinpointing. It's their artistic choice and I respect it form that point of veiw but from a pokemon model standpoint I dont like it that much.

I read some comments saying how sterotypical it is, and yeah I can agree on that. I also noticed how people are saying females shouldn't only having lashes. But, haven't you seen cartoons? Females in cartoons only have lashes and other things. While males don't have lashes. Shin Art made it like the gender, and they didn't say it was gonna be realistic, because if they did, the females wouldn't be having lashes. I don't want to start an argument of what I said in this comment, but just think of it like an explanation why Shin Art made the females have lashes, and the males not.

I really liked Vaporeon and Flareon. But even if your technique is very good, and congratulations for that, your ideas are very stereotyped, don't you think? I mean, what are those eyelashes?! Why the males have shorter hairs?! Come on! What's the problem with the Pokémon community with genres? Is there any pokemon too masculine to be a female, is there any pokemon too feminine to be a male? Is that even exist? There are lots of animals with no gender variations. Why will we add eyelashes to girls and muscles to boys? This is just really, really wrong. We don't need to separate genres. We don't need to fill out any resume with socially defined caractheristics to be male, or female. Your art is great, but... why, may I ask?
