The best aikido master. Shirakawa sensei is a true and completely new aikido master. His technique is clear, dynamic and soft. The people who were called aikido masters up until now do not do Ukemi. They will never take Ukemi from the participants of the seminar. Because the masters up until now are not masters of true technique, but also masters of power. They only likes obedient students. Furthermore, They always performs techniques from his own advantageous position. They never resists his partner. Shirakawa sensei's technique, physical strength and motor nerves are of course at a high level, but he also puts into practice the spirit of peace and harmony of aikido, not just in theory. No one can imitate that. Respect from the bottom of my heart.

So you basically no nothing about Aikido then with such a BS statement
@curtismorrison81718 ай бұрын
I thought your comments about previous Masters were a bit harsh. A lot of times, their bodies are beaten up from the years of training and they tend to have hip issues FROM doing Ukemi for so long. I wouldn't be so harsh. Just improve your Aikido from their teachings as much as you can without such a perspective. Take care and be well.

I’m sad to read that you have had bad senseis before. But your statement is incorrect. My sensei who is 77 always takes ukemi). And he always wants us to attack strongly. But of course less so now when he is approaching 80 years old :)

Congratulations, Shirakawa sensei. Your work is sensational and you have shown true martial art with respect and tradition. Hugs from Brazil. OSS

Great and amazing aikido master. You do 100 times better work than Steven Seagal. It's not destruction but harmony and harmony.
@peterbestetti8 ай бұрын
I'm not sure why people love to put Steven Seagal down. He IS a master of Aikido, but also of many other forms. Don't confuse his films, which are entertainment, with Steven the martial artist. His films are primarily entertainment, but they also feature many martial forms. Look at his KZbin stuff with an open heart and you will find a sincere person. Regarding his Aikido style, he uses irimi mainly to attack (early timing), not waiting for the opponent's ki and using tenkan; this is true martial form, which admittedly is not encouraged by dojos; but it should be understood as originating in real world fighting. I greatly respect sensei Seagal, even if I sometimes disagree with some of his views.

I am in split. My shihan says kaeshi waza is no more in Hombu Dojo and we should mirror Hombu Dojo aikido in 100%. And here I see greatest aikido with kaeshi waza coumtertechniques and this is aikido I love from the start since 1996 when I started. Absolutly awesome seminar. I regret I had no opportunity to join.
Sensei Jones said, 'we would like to thank Shirakawa sensei for the profile that he is given Aikido worldwide" I could not agree more and that is why I am a fan of his channel. The profile that he is given Aikido is the correct profile and one that I think Ueshiba sensei would have approved of.

Many Western Aikido instructors, as well as Japanese Aikido instructors, translate Aikido as The Way of Harmony, not the Way of Aiki. They also explained Aikido with a lot of philosophical meaning because O Sensei did it. O sensei was a religious nan. This made many people cannot catch what Aikido is. Moreover, many terms used in Aikido are not the daily used words in Japanese daily life. Aiki has two meaning. Firstly, coordinating ki in oneself so that he/she can make it flow in their body to keep their health well and better, later to flow it out what is called ki no nagare. (But it has no relationship with “no touch aikido” style.) Secondly, coordinating ki no nagare in dynamic interaction with the changes of circumstance. This is called aiki no nagare. Waza themselves actually have no connection with the way of aiki. (They are defense techniques from Daitoryu Jujutsu.) Some who knows the two cores "aiki" can do aikido better, spontaneously, logically, naturally, even scientifically, without wasting many years, much energy and risks / injuries, to practive aikido waza and later just become silly "uke" who must follow every "nage" actions / waza. In 1970, there was a Chinese scholar and Aikido instructor, named 黄合祥, who taught Aikido clearly, rationally, scientifically and realistically. The curriculum of Aikido 1970 style were: 1. Fast and sudden interactions with paper sticks (to avoid bad risks) 2. Practicing ki no nagare (with/without a tool) 3. Practicing aiki no nagare (in any changes) 4. Practicing wrist flexibility, fast move, and relaxed body movement 5. Interactions in limited time and space, in bad personal condition, ìn bad situation, and in applying priorities. I think any aikido is good but different people have different need and opinion. The important thing is be healthy, happy, and wealthy. I am almost 80 years old, healthy and happy, still active in teaching languages, etc.
