I really enjoy it when a band makes the effort to include the backing vocals. In this case they not only included them, but absolutely killed. I don't know why talent like this seems unfashionable in today's music.
@themeatshield2315 жыл бұрын
ok, everyone bashing brent smith for this vocal performance, you realize how powerful the vocals are on all of shinedowns songs? youd think with how many gigs they do, his voice tends to be not 100% pretty much constantly, and considering that this was a good vocal performance, not the same as the studio version, but none the less, it was good.

Those things that the lead singer said are probably the most inspirational things I've ever heard. I love how he said that music in general doesnt care about the color of your skin, the language you speak ect.

He's right, but theres is so much more to music than just music. The most beautiful thing about music as a whole, is the way it speaks to you. The memoreies that come with it, thoughts that come into mind after hearing over the radio. The Emotion that blister oyur heart when you hear it. That feeling of vivid, the emotion as it makes the hair on your neck stand on end, weather it's a upbeat song, or if it's that one song that you turned to when your love left you. Music is love. As it should be.

I was feeling depressed, out of nowhere, it's been going on since Monday, but I never knew what was wrong. I heard this speech, and I know why I feel this way, but I'll continue to be depressed for some reason. That speech was gold.

Btw this song always makes me cry. Every single singer has "off days" or a few notes here n there. So what!?!?!? Makes him real n human n makes me love Shinedown even more esp after I saw Brent do an acoustic show in NJ two years ago. It was almost perfect n he is a wonderful man
@slpbasketballer915 жыл бұрын
@velaydez Just like professional athletes can't play a game every day, singers can't go all-out on vocals every day. Vocal cords are muscles that get fatigued. Singing high notes fatigues them the most. Brent range is amazing. Cut him some slack for having to tone it back once in a while.

whoever is saying his vox are less than stellar, you're fucking insane. The tone and control he has over his voice is crazy good. You're shocked because he didn't hit the high note 100%? Damn, listen to the rest of the song, it's incredible! Granted the bground vox are somewhat strange but the singer's voice is wild. Great performance.

If we were at an art gallery it would be ok to point out pros and cons based on subjective opinion, it doesn't mean we disrespect the artist. I would rather have a kick to the groin than for you not to hit the high octave G for the haleys comet part. Listeners bring some expectation to a performance viewing and you cemented that one in the masses by writing the baddest change Ive heard so its ok to ask you to give me specifically more of that, just my opinion B

Sorry but I can't agree to your thoughts! I saw them @ Rock am Ring 2009 live and many times on live gigs in the internet! I know that he can't implement what the rocords on their CD offer to us! Actually he has a nice voice and also a great recognition value but it's never like in the radio version!^^

Not buying an album anytime soon... but I love his music. Maybe the music industry should evolve to the massive data internet community. Just as hollywood should, "theatre release"... lol, release it to anyone plz. Some of us don't like to go to the theater and sit with a bunch of fucking assholes. I'd rather sit with my wife and child and watch a movie, and I'd pay good for it.
