As soon as they did a Hurricane Katrina benefit concert at #freebirdlive at Jacksonville Beach with only like a 8 song set list, I told myself then well Randy you won't be seeing these guys once a month which happened several times in the beginning, then they played about 3 out of 10 festivals that #planet #radio promoted. Then it was off and running for #SD headed for the stratosphere. Have caught them twice since the so called pandemic was declared over. Saint Augustine Amphitheatre & The VyStar Jacksonville Memorial Arena.

Brent recently said in a concert that EVERY shinedown song that gets released is what the band sees as a feature quality song, and that they refuse to release songs that don’t fit that description. With that being said, there’s no telling how many amazing songs Brent has written and not released

I would bet that it derives from "Amaryllis" (not from "Threat To Survival"), because it has a strong Amaryllis-esque vibe. I sob every time I hear this. It describes how I felt when I was with my mom when she passed from this earth. I would have given anything to keep her, but her suffering was too great. I just wanted her to open her eyes and see me. Fluorescent lights are a trigger for me as our child was born with two rare syndromes and spends too much time in the hospital. Then when my mom passed the buzz was so anxiety inducing for me. I hate them now. Shinedown has this way of reaching inside, opening up your heart and soul and expressing all your emotions in a way you can’t, or bring up ones you didn’t know you had. Love this band. They are literally a lifeline for our family. Our teen met them for their Make A Wish. Worth every moment.❤
