He absolutely loves what he does & he is happy. He does like experimenting with different types of music but he didn't lose his heart & soul.

I love the evolution of Shinedown through the last 20 years. Brent explodes with emotion on every song, although there is a rawness to early Shinedown live performances that I miss.

I'm 40 yrs old and have had the privilege of seeing 399 concerts to this point Shinedown has one of the purest sounding concerts I've heard. They are BY FAR one of the best performances in regards to sound and rank right along legends like Aerosmith, Pantera and (like him or not) Elton John.

Anyone else try to sing a long like Brent Smith does and go into a coughing fit and nearly choke to death or is it just me? 😂😂😎😎 Anyway what an amazing voice, lyrics and sound. Wish they would return to more of this sound of gritty emotion. Their sound, their lyrics and his voice seem to have softened lately from what I've listened to at least. I still love them and never will forget when me and this girl I just started dating and saw them for our 1st concert together which how would I know at the time would turn into many more over the next 6 years. That was in September 2006 at PNC Arts Center in NJ. They opened for Rob Zombie and Godsmack and brought the house down.

For those of you who feel the need to criticize the vocals.they were on tour at the time of this recording.his voice has been under strain,duh! you cannot expect the vocals to be perfect like the album. This is one of the best songs ever written.If u r familiar with drug addiction it is very easy to relate to.this video has been a great therapy tool for me.i stated this in a comment a few yrs ago.

well i am a professional vocal coach and what you are hearing is not his voice cutting out, its him adding vocal depth to the song by adding in those high notes you hear on the vocal solos. so for your information brent smith is singing correctly and in my opinion one of the best vocalists the industry has to offer.

I don't think people understand the difference between studio work and live performances. I mean, sure, Studio's give you that "clean" sound. But Shinedowns live performances are just full of so much power. Personally, I will take all the heart they put into live performances over their studio sounds ANYDAY

Herad this for the first time in a treatment center. With so many ups and downs. It was nice to have something that remained steady and true and not just the vocals and message then song carry or the fire it lights in my heart to life the life I was given. It was also the ability to feel connected with a person, and know that people out there are like me. Addiction is strong, but we are stronger and most of all worth it. You don't have to suffer alone. A close friend of mine well I call him my brother. Caus he is my brother even though it's not biological. Well he lost 2 friends to suicide. You see shinedown is medicine for my soul. I started listening to them in honor of my friend's friends. The more I listen to them I can feel the music deep inside me. I can't explain it but it breaks my heart. I love my brother. I don't know why they had to take their lives. It hurt him bad it crippled him. I've Considering suicide before. I have God now!
