Key's "Born to Shine" performance is his solo stage from the solo section of SHINee's SHINee World Concert 2014 at the Tokyo Dome in Japan, so 55,000 fans were witness to this performance. :D As you can see, this is one of the reasons why Key has been recognized as our diva of the group. This is classic Key and it's just who he is. Key is fluent in English, so that's why he is so go at these English songs. He is so proficient at English that, if you didn't know any better, you would think he was a native speaker. (He is one of the best non-native English speakers in Kpop.) I think you are supposed to get Lady Gaga vibes from Key's performance. Which I think is where he got his inspiration for this song from. He is a big fan of Lady Gaga and one of the nicknames of Key's fans are Lil' freaks. Officially Key's fans are called Lockets -- because his name is Key -- but they often are also referred to lovingly by Key as lil' freaks, which I kind of see as a homage to the fact that Gaga's fans are called Little Monsters. In the "Born to Shine" performance, when you saw the camera cut to the audience, that was one of the staff members searching for a fan in the audience to bring up on stage. They were asking that girl if she wanted to be a part of the show. Little did she know what she was really getting herself into. LOL I don't know how she was able to stand and walk off that stage by the end of it. This performance of "internet War" is a cover of a song by a well know first generation artist and this performance is from SHINee's SHINee World Concert II (SWC2) from 2012, so Taemin is about 18 years old here. At the time Jonghyun's and Taemin's performance was super controversial and they got a lot of backlash from the public for the underlying LGBTQ undertones of their performance. However, it didn't phase Jonghyun. In true Jonghyun style, as an answer to all the hate, he changed his online profile picture to a picture of him and Taemin handcuffed together with their arms raised in the air. Next to R&B, rock is one of SHINee's best music styles. They often have rock sections in their concerts and they do a lot of rock remixes of some of their classics. Just search SHINee live rock remix and you will see all the concert performances of songs you have heard, but the songs will sound different because they are done with a rock style.

@@milindawilson9175 half of antis were fans themselves at first. there is even quote korean loves to say 'fans turned antis are the worse'. in korea it's very common because most fans there tend to stan an idol for the fantasy, not so much for who they are as people or as artists/performers. once an idol does something that shatters that fantasy they have in their heads of what that person is supposed to be, they turn to antis

internet war is originally by an artist called seotaiji who was also part of the group seotaiji and boys. they are kinda seen as the beginnings/foundation of kpop, they're incredibly legendary. they mixed a lot of western genres like rock/metal and hiphop and their lyrics were often socially critical

From SHINee, you can get soooo much; good vocals, good dance routines, good composer, good lyricist, good fashion, good visuals, good actors, good in variety, good cooks, good in sports, very2 creative (from cute to intense to opera to musical performances in concerts etc) they're just a bunch of 5 super2 talented guys that till today stay humble despites sooo many achievements~ and that is why so many other idols and singers (junior and seniors) love SHINee and look up to them~ they're simply a LEGEND~ Key's performance are from SHINee's Concert in 2015, there are segment when the members performed their solo piece~

that's my ult, kim kibum baby! the power the confidence, that smirk. funny that you said it gives you gaga vibes, because key's a big gaga fan, and has actually performed hair and judas by her at concerts. what an icon 💅🏽 he knew exactly what he was doing with that performance though. he said, i wanna look sexy as hell, i want a whip, and i want to be carried on a throne by a bunch of strong men, and oh boy he did it all. and whew yeah, there's no way you'd get me on that stage. i'd pass out. this bitch was in a body harness! naur, no thank you sir, i'll just aqtch from afar. and oh wow, internet war. it actually caused a lot drama at the time. it was thought to be too suggestive (i.e gay🙄) i remember people being really angry about it, and some even unstanning. jonghyun though, that icon of a man, changed his twitter profile pic to picture from that performance as a big fuck you, after a petition went around demanding he leave the group because of it. it was a crazy time. both performances were actually from a shinee concert (edit: i was wrong! internet war was from an smtown concert lol)they always have special solo or duo stages during their concerts. some of the most iconic solo shinee performances have been special stages from their shinee world concerts.

I won't say it is drastically different, but I've noticed the difference in fan-service, when singers are performing in South Korea versus when they're performing internationally. Internationally, the fan service is borderline flirting with fans. There is more of the subtle contact such as holding a hand, playing games or even bringing a fan up on stage to serenade them.

HAHAHAHA both in one video was brave! SHINee live and breathe the stage when they're up there. Their full group concerts often included solo or subunit stages, usually covers but some original songs too, I think Internet War was from SHINee World II and an SMTOWN event in 2012 and Born To Shine was from a 2014 Japan concert. Jonghyun's first solo concert was in 2015, Taemin's in 2017 and Key's wasn't until late 2018. His little smirk gets me every time, Key knew that he had just committed murder on stage. It interesting that you mention Lady Gaga because Key and SHINee covered her quite a few times. Love your costume!

Ah yes, Fifty Shades of Key. I love this song for ALL the reasons - fun bop, choreo, attitude, outfit, etc. It lives in my brain rent-free. As for Internet War, I encourage you to also watch their Tokyo stage performance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYnSk3-LoL-nkNk Sufficiently different and is more clear what happens when Jjong and Taemin meet just after the 3:30 mark. Like others have said, make sure to watch Taemin's Dynamite stage at the same concert as Key's Born to Shine. Fans were getting whiplash between the cute cuddly performances by Jonghyun and Onew and the sexy sexy performances by Key and Taemin. Oh, to have been there!!
