I'm a 51 year old Shawol ....i "discovered" Taemin as a solo artist about 3 years ago (thanks to my daughter) and then just fell into SHINee...along with NCT and then SuperM.....among others..I'm constantly in awe of everything they do....At my age (smile) the Sherlock sound and choreo reminds me of Michael Jackson (and Taemin's moves as well) I don't care what my friends say when i talk about SHINee..music has no age!!!

I am right there with you. I am 52 and was technically introduced to Shinee in 2012 when my daughter discovered and fell in love with them. Shinee is still her favorite Kpop band though she does love NCT and Super Junior. Anyhoo, I was dumb and didn’t really listen to Shinee until the summer of 2017 and regret all the years I wasted.I like other kpop music but Shinee, like my daughter, is my absolute favorite. I love to watch them together or solo and in any way, mv, kdrama, variety (Love Amazing Saturday!), interviews and my absolute favorite way, in concert. Additional facts! Taemin has been also vocally coached by Jonghyun. SHINee used to send him to school during their pre debut and debut days because he was bullied. Him being the youngest to debut that time set the bar higher too. Jonghyun is also a writer / novelist / poet. He is the only one who had not officially debuted as an actor among them 5, and had the potential. SHINee being actors make them all-around artists in their own rights. Onew has a masteral and doctorate in a music degree. You can see with how he can control his voice, although they all can. He is not super confident with his dancing, but the man sure does dance amazingly. Ever seen his break dance hiphop style? SHINee is very versatile. Minho has found it difficult to rap and sing at first because of his lisps. And probably because he is the 1st one to debut as an actor among the 5, the techniques used by actors to avoid lisps helped him too. Plus, being the lowest toned among the 5, he had to keep up with the other 5 but his fine arse proved to be a great balance for the group. He has really good singing voice too. Key is the triple threat when they debuted (vocal, rap, dance) and he can memorise any dance by one to few glances only. Being a diva in a savage group? Set the bar way too high. They tend to learn a choreo a day to 3 days before performing them live, example: Kimi no sei de. They performed it 1dt live in Tokyo Dome after only learning it in that short time frame. SHINee is the 1st kpop group to be acknowledged by their South Korean president and been appointed as ambassadors. They promoted themselves in the streets during their debut. They perform under the typhoon while having fun! They were called experimental group not only for music, dance, fashion but also for variety shows. It's not only them who made trends and left trademarks but also shawols -- heard them sing during concert breaks? Or while waiting for concerts or shows that showcase other groups too? They're so loud. And the 1st use of the thick lightsticks (shabats) made other concerts prohibit the use of its scenestealing prospects. Their light shine the most among other fans :D A lot more to learn about them. They had their own individual trademark colours aside from the group's Pearl Aqua too btw. And speaking of Pearl Aqua, they set the bar too high in Japan! Shawols had lit their towers in pearl aqua in some occasions aside from being the 1st kpop group to fill the dome! And SHAWOL - SHINEE relationship -- Jonghyun let shawols touch his / their face when their manager / bodyguards / staff prohibited them. The boys said they trust shawols. Shawols behaved while they did so.

And don't come to me with album sales and YT views or whatever endorsements because each period and each generation don't have access to the same things. I'm talking about what makes them the BEST. Their artistry, innovation and their superior ability to convey all of that (vocal and musical ability, dance, vision...) They have been there since 2008, and continue to be the blueprint and the absolute reference. They have inspired so many. They are without any doubt the most covered Kpop group, because covering their difficult songs give some artistic validation. They are the most cited by their professional peers as being their inspiration. Taemin the maknae (youngest) has also turning into a monster, arguably the best KPop male solo performer. This group insanely talented. And as a Shawol that is the most important for me. They have been uncompromising from day one about their artistry and identity. No matter the trend, no matter what make sell. And last but not least their personalities. They are literally adored by everybody surrounding them their seniors/ juniors/staff etc...Just the sweetest guys. I knew about SHINee from their debut days but I didn’t Stan them, I didn’t Stan any group. I was busy being a K-pop social butterfly so I know most of the 2nd and 3rd gen groups but there’s something about SHINee that makes them different from other groups. Aside from how super talented they are, their genuine love for each other and to us Shawols is always heartfelt. I’ve been listening to Kpop since 2010, and I have to admit that nothing can satisfy me like SHINee. I might be biased as I’m a shawol, but I did listen to other groups from time to time and I still think, SHINee is the best for me. What I like most about them is that they are very experimental and unique in their music. You get fresh and new music for every comeback. That’s why even after 13 years, people still have big expectation for every SHINee comeback. They never care about what other people do, they continously release song that really represents SHINee colors. Being experimental in your music is risky because it depends on how public accepts, but SHINee continues to do it and after many years, it has somehow become one of their strengths. SHINee title tracks are good, but their b-sides are mutiple times better. I used to be very sensitive about ranking and popularity when I first started listening to kpop, but I after a while, what really matter is the quality of the music. Fame will fade away, but not quality. Of course Shawols want to give as much awards/trophies/wins as we could to SHINee but those things doesn’t necessarily define the real quality of a group. SHINee might not be the most popular or has the biggest fandom ever, but I’m proud for what they have done all these years through their music. Remember Key said “If I think of SHINee, there were never a moment where I feel embarassed of it”. Also Onew “I’m so proud that I’m actually a part of SHINee”. We, Shawols, are proud that we are a part of them too. My only wish is that, I hope more people can try to open their heart, eyes, and ears and try to listen to SHINee. I don’t want SHINee to be recognized by their popularity but rather their music, talent and art because that’s what SHINee truly is.

for me, i got into shinee through superM and watching taemin's performances! I was thrilled by the sheer energy and passion he had whilst on stage and since then I have also become a fan of SHINee. Their artistry as you said is incredible and watching them perform truly gives me happiness. Most groups nowadays are just products made by their companies, no input, hardly any live stages and just a lack of genuineness in their position as a performer. But SHINee delivers art. Ive been Shawol for over 10 years now. I can't believe how much SHINee hss accomplished and evolved over time. They were one of the first two groups I ever listened to. I will never forget the first time I heard Lucifer and RDD!! I will never forget listening to their View comeback. I got to see them in 2012 at a KBS NY song festival in New Jersey and they performed Lucifer and RDD and it was one of the most amazing moments of my life. They truely are one of the greatest kpop bands and artists ever. Not even just in kpop but their success all over the world even before social media became a thing is truely inspirational. I started watching and listening to kpop in 2017. I'm from Kerala,India. So our language is completely different from korean, its called Malayalam. Since we have different languages among us we're busy learning that and also English. No other foreign languages are popular among us. So, coming to the point, I have a friend who is diehard Kpop fan, not only kpop kdramas, films also. I used to tease her for that. Then I started to think 'What is KPop? Why is she in to it so much ?'. So i decided to listen kpop,but i didn't know where to start. So i decided to ask KZbin itself. I searched Best Kpop songs and i got a result of Top 10 kpop songs. I started listening each and every songs. I was like 'okay...' 'okay...'. While playing a particular song I was amazed by the music, vocals and choreography of that song. It had something extra(for me) that none of other songs gave me. Then i searched for that particular song and started to watch each and every live performances of that song.I got the answer i was looking for. It was a different experience for me watching a group of boys singing and dancing synchronised live. And that song was Lucifer by Shinee. From that day onwards i became a fan of Shinee. Since then i have listened many kpop musics, seen many different groups. Then i search for their musics maybe i like one or two of their songs maybe not. But i have to say 'Nobody i mean nobody has impressed me like Shinee did and still they are'. And all their songs are my favourites. Now I'm addicted to Shinee without knowing a single word they are singing and saying😎😁😂. I like other groups too mainly from SM.

Not gonna lie but i was an Army for 1-2 years, and all i know about kpop was BTS. I even thoght they were Best group to exist bc i didn't know about other idols at this time. Then i started to know a lot of idol and learing about them! but when i found SHINee i literally said this is the right group for me stan! I was so impressed by them.They literally has best vocalist, dancers, concepts, choreo out there. They are best performers. Same. I wasn’t an army though but they’re all I know abt kpop, along with other “famous” groups. Not undermining their hardwork and talents ofc, but I also thought that wow, a lot of people are stanning them so maybe they’re the best groups out there. Until I found shinee through Taemin. They just felt different to me. Their versatility, fearlessness of experimenting and trying new genres and styles draw me in. Not to mention their personalities and in-your-face honesty which I don’t get to see that much from other idols. Shinee, unfortunately, was not heavily promoted here in my country so I wasn’t really aware of them until I saw Taemin’s Move then I started looking for his old videos. I’m just so glad I found him and Shinee. ❤️

I'm proud to say that I've been a fan since the beginning of their career. They had paved the way for kpop to shine all over the world along with other great artists like SuJu and etc. People may argue with who's the best now but in my heart, they remain unrivaled and incomparable to others. It's sad that we can't see some videos from before because the technology back then is not like what we have now. I didn't even have a cellphone before, I just watched them while doing my school research. They had long become my standards and my first love for kpop boy groups. Then, I got my heart broken, like all Shawols when our Jonghyun oppa passed away. Still, we continued supporting them, this time more confidently and passionately hoping they feel as much love and support as possible. We missed Onew, Key and Minho when they served in the military and waited patiently and hopefully for their comeback. Now, we are missing our beloved maknae. Let's wait for him with enthusiasm. To my fellow Shawols, you did well! Thank you for all the efforts. To SHINee, thank you so so much for the inspiration and for sharing your music, talents and even some parts of yourselves to us. 2nd gen groups cant be compared with any groups now .They paved the way for 3rd 4th gen groups. May be they are famous through billboards , concert amount , social media. But 2nd gen grp was the ones who were not so advanced in technology . But still they were very popular at that time. Which is really amazing. Now a days you can know kpop groups by using internet. Which is very easy way of their publishment. But if you think of that time it was not possible. But still they rocked it. Now lets talk about shinee. They were the experental grp of SM for sone months. SM didnt advertised them like SUPERJUNIOR OR GIRLSGENERATION . But they still managed to get popular by their hardest try. So they are really differnt. Even they are so fluent in japanese. Specially onew sing japanese songs like natives.(specially the one with hata san). The emotions they put in not only korean songs but also japanese songs. Its really amazing in one word. And 5 have differnt vocal talent. Leader and oldest Onew has gentle smooth soothing and heavenly voice. Jonghyun could hit the high note and melodic and artistic voice ever. Key has nasal voice which is very addictive and also a dancing machine as he can dance almost every kpop idols own or group song. Minho has very manly deep voice and can rap so good. Maknae taemin is the main dancer can do various tough extraordinary hard moves without any mistakes also has cool sexy clean vocal. You can identify their voices from one another but they blend so well together that you will not feel like identify them differntly. Perfect harmonizing . And they are the trend setters. View song is the best example. Completetly diffenrnt style which other groups follow later by getting inspired. The most important thing is besides the group they each and every are even more famous in their solo . I mean WOWW. Taemin onew jonghun key minho as a group is the best and as solo uncomparable. Besides their uniqe talent . Key best Mc doing many variety shows and also a fashion designer for shinee and a model , taemin singing judge , jonghyun radio host , minho pro in every sport and a good actor , oneew opera and taekbum.... And their bonding are greater more than any other groups in kpop. Its not possible for any group to be like them in bonding with each other. Their love os not only as a grp but as brothers. No maknae in the kpop industry is sippoertd loved and cared like taemin. He is still a kid to his shinee hyungs. They litterally raised him and cated for him unconditionally and endlessly. And still they are doing that even though he is 30. So SHINEE is uniqe in every way . And their fearless and friendly character and behaivour with not only the other idols of SM but also with the other idols of differnt entertainment industry is really outstanding. ...god bless them.. keep going together and love each other like that till the end.

My love for SHINee runs deep especially when they helped me in 2010 get through the one year anniversary of our family pet that was taken away too soon. This... i can't put into words what this video did to me. I got into kPOP more than 10yrs ago ( before it was popular worldwide) Shinee were one of my first along with MBLAQ and others. I always had a special place in my heart for them. I got into bts and other years later and strayed slightly alway, but when 'that' happend (the saddest day of shawols life) I physically couldn't listen to them. It hurt knowing that it would never be 5 again. It took me around 2yrs to get back to them. Im currently on a break (Had a horrible experience online with kpop and just couldn't get out) but re-watching videos like this warms my heart. I may not be super into kpop anymore but Shinee is different (i only feel like this with 2 or 3 groups and even then it doesn't come close to how I feel about Shinee. Maybe a small exception but its complicated). So thank you for showing me why I love them regardless of much time passes.
