I think SHINee's "Don't Call Me" MV and Fake Reality teaser is SM's way of drawing SHINee into the SM Universe and fully connect SHINee to SuperM's/EXO's storyline. Hence Minho's red hair and the red room with the chairs hanging from the ceiling. I think this might be connected in someway to the Red Force and EXO's/SuperM storyline. I also see connections between SuperM, aespa and SHINee with the fact that we see SuperM riding on a subway train in their "100" MV and we see aespa in the subway in their debut "Black Mamba" MV, and now we see SHINee also in a train station in "Don't Call Me". As with everything SM does it is all connected and it's all designed to be part of one large story. I also think that the scene with Key in the red outfit standing on the car that is submerged in water has something to do with the Red Force as well. In that scene we also see Key dressed in his black outfit with the feather headpiece standing in front of the image of himself, which looks as though this could be showing Key in alternate realities -- or a "fake reality." Then it looks as though the members go through some sort of wormhole as they are teleported somewhere and we see them all posing in their black outfits. This looks very similar to SuperM's "Jopping MV when the SuperM members are coming together at the beginning of "Jopping." As you know, the members of SuperM are supposed to be coming together to help EXO fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from corrupting and taking over the world, etc. As "The Avengers" SuperM is taking the "best" members from each of SM's groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT and Wayv -- and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight. So, if you remember in EXO's "Obsession" MV, we learn that the good guys are the members in the all black outfits, and in "Jopping" we see SuperM's "Avengers uniform" is similar all black outfits. So in the scene in "Don't Call Me," when we see SHINee all together in those black outfits, it looks as though they might be prepare to join in the fight. Because of this, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third generation groups' MVs and storylines -- and probably even now their 4th gen groups -- are being designed to connect stories and plots. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together, there are threads of connection between the groups. And that includes SuperM, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, aespa, and maybe even Taemin's solo work, and possibly even SHINee, even though they are technically 2nd generation. Even though SHINee are second gen, they actually fit within the age group of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen.

SHINee is always giving us new sounds, so this isn't their "normal" sound. It is still distinctly SHINee though. They have a way of making any concept they do their own. They can be really experimental with their music too, which is one of the reasons they're known as trendsetters. :)

There is no "normal" sound or style to SHINee. They always bring something unique to Kpop; always surprising us with every comeback and even though we are prepared for it, we are still shocked....lol. If you watch more of their discography, you will understand. They experiment A LOT and it's usually FIRE when they do. They will mix genres (like here - Hip Hop & R&B) into one song, or create their own. They can sing just about anything. Any yes, Minho came come at you with those deep, whispery vocals. Minho is the MAIN rapper of the group. Check out "Excuse Me Miss" and "Alive" live performances. What you called "teal" is their signature color, pearl-aqua. You will see that color play a prominent role in each of their videos, most often in the lighting, and is a nod to SHAWOLs. "For the next call..." is done by Key. The "7" denotes their 7th Korean album. (They have 21albums altogether when you count their Japanese, minis, and EP albums.)

Onew has always been a safe spot for me as far as being sexy is concerned. He's one of the few people I can see never being considered that way. Although he can be sometimes. Okay Minho, we get it. You're back and attacking us with your whole chest literally. His facial expressions are super sly and sexy. That smirk he gives us all during his second verse is lethal. Key is reminding us that he's the lead dancer in SHINee. Him being in the center for a chorus section is awesome. Lastly, this maknae Taemin holds a special place in all of our hearts. Some of us have literally watched him grow from a small teenage boy to a fully confident grown man. For context, I started stanning our boys back in 2013.

With this comeback, SHINee are just doing what we have all come to expect from them -- showing us something that has never been seen or heard before and starting a new trend. Nothing you hear from them will ever be like anything you have ever seen or heard before. They raise the bar even higher with every comeback. And that's what makes them SHINee. :D With every new song release, SHINee are expected to come out with a style and sound that is brand new, not only for them, but in the industry as a whole. And "Don't Call Me" is a perfect example of that. The teal -- or to be more specific pearl aqua -- is SHINee's fan color so that is why their outfits have pearl aqua accents, Key designed them that way on purpose. What you just experienced is exactly what makes SHINee legends. And this is the reason why they are so highly respected, and why almost everyone in the industry who came after them cites them as one of their biggest influences and one of the reasons why they wanted to become a singer and dancer, etc. SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups. They are always setting trends, never following them. SHINee where designed to be SM's experimental boy group, so everything they do is meant to be the first and they are expected to set the trend. With every new song SHINee produces it's expected to be different than the last, so you will never hear the same style or sound from them in any of their songs, even on the same album, and yet, somehow it will always sound like SHINee. The industry looks to SHINee to show them what the next song style and dance trend will be. And it is said that within 3 months of SHINee releasing their new song and choreography, you will see that same sound and style being duplicated across the industry with every comeback to follow from both boy groups and girl groups. When SHINee does something the industry takes note and follows suit. SHINee has started the trend with almost everything -- with every one of their songs to their dances to clothing trends, to live performances, to the way Kpop is promoted -- there is almost nothing that can't be attributed to something SHINee has been involved in. You just discovered why SHINee still hold one of the top spots after more than 12 years in the industry. If you are impressed now, just wait until you go through their entire discography of songs and MVs. So far, they have 13 full-length albums (7 Korean albums and 6 Japanese albums), a multitude of mini albums, numerous OSTs, they each have solo songs and albums and there are hundreds of live performances that will absolutely leave you speechless with their talent. And it only gets more and more impressive as you follow them through their career. They have accomplished a lot in the past 12+ years and they are one of the groups that made Kpop what it is today. However, if you want to see where SHINee truly shines, you have to see their live performances. (And that includes their live comeback stages for "Don't Call Me." For instance, in live performances Taemin plays the piano in the middle of the song.) This year will be SHINee's 13th anniversary. So SHINee are part of the second generation of Kpop and yet they are younger than most everyone in their generation and are the same age or even younger than most other groups, such as EXO and BTS, etc. which are part of Kpop's third generation. SHINee debuted young and have the experience of seasoned veterans. When SHINee debuted in 2008, Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14, so now they are all in their late 20s and early 30s. (Onew just turned 31 in December.) SHINee are some of the most well respected artists in the industry. Onew (Pronounced Oh-New, real name Lee JinKi) is the leader of the group and he has one of the most unique and best voices in the industry. (Onew means, or sounds like, the Korean words for soft or gentle, so he was given his stage name because he has a very calm and gentle personality.) His vocals are unmatched. He even holds the record (40+ seconds) for the longest continuous note without changing tone or pitch, etc. Key is our diva and fashionista of the group who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. SHINee are known for setting trends and never being afraid to experiment, so Key is known for really paying attention to detail when it comes to fashion. He is known for always being unique and wanting to stand out. He is also known as SHINee's dance copy machine. Key has the ability to see and remember choreography the fastest in the group. He only needs to watch the dance once and he has it memorized. He is also SHINee's fluent English speaker, and he is almost as good as a native speaker. Minho is the main rapper and visual of the group, but his vocals are also some of the best in the industry. Minho sings just as much as he raps. He also writes most of his own raps in SHINee's songs. Minho is a top actor and he has starred in numerous dramas and movies. He is also known as a top athlete. He says these days he goes to the gym a couple of times a day to work out just because he likes to work out, but he is also crazy about soccer, and he plays basketball, baseball and golf, and he is good at track and field events, etc., as well. And not only does he enjoy playing all those sports, but he is usually the best athlete on the field and he pretty much wins every time. Minho's nickname is "Flaming Charisma," and one reason is for his intense passion for sports and his need to always win. And, as you know, Taemin is considered one of THE BEST dancers in the industry, and that's not just by fans but by everyone in the industry, including his peers. Taemin's nickname is the Korean Michael Jackson. He is also one of the most popular solo artists in the industry and he is a member of the Kpop supergroup SuperM. Taemin truly is art when it comes to his performances. Although Jonghyun wasn't in the MV, in order to get to know SHINee, you have to get to know him as well. He is known as one of the best vocalist in Kpop who was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. Jonghyun wrote and composed almost 40% of SHINee's songs, plus he wrote all of his own solo songs and numerous songs for other artists, such as EXO's "Playboy" and songs for Taemin, IU and Lee HI, etc., as well as participated in several movie and drama OSTs. He was one of the only SM artists to be given complete artistic control over his work, including several of SHINee's song selections. SM knew that if Jonghyun was involved in any way that the song would be a hit. He was extremely respected within the industry as a songwriter, composer and singer. He was one of the very first Idols to be known for this songwriting and composing skills. As the main vocalist, Jonghyun is the reason why Taemin is the amazing singer and performer that he is today. Jonghyun taught Taemin everything he knows and you can feel Jonghyun's influence everytime Taemin sings, especially when he's performing with SHINee. SHINee are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop. Once you get to know their voices you will always be able to pick them out of a crowd just by the sound of their voice. Most fans will tell you we know who is speaking or singing within 1 second even with our eyes closed, with them standing in a crowd of screaming fans. Each of their voices are that unique -- there is no one with a voice like any of theirs. That is why they are "The Princes of Kpop". SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. They are known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. SHINee always sings live. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing so they avoid it at all costs, so when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing then they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, SHINee will always sing live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach. This was the first time for me to watch you. I have to say.... You had this 65 year old grandmother laughing so hard ... I had to hold my tears back. I'm not really a Shawol ... but I've listen to SHINee since 2008, from the first time of their debut.. thanks to my granddaughters who, back then were teenagers. Since then ... my granddaughters have veered away from listening to KPop.. while grandma will continue to listen to SHINee & has been faithfully following Taemin. It's been a wonderful and amazing ride with this Outstanding group of young men. I'm grateful that they have not only come back ... but they have EVOLVED in their style and music. Yeeeaars later, after i started listening to bts, i remembered shinee, check them out again and i realized they were ICONIC. Ive been in love them since 2008. Minho and Key are rappers, Jonghyun and Onew are the main vocalists, and Taemin was the baby. Since Jonghyun passed away everyone has taken on all the parts now. Shinees back and they came with fire.

Officially Minho is a rapper and a visual Key - Singer, dancer, rapper Jinki/Onew - Singer. Prefers to be called Onew professionally but doesn't mind being called Jinki. Taemin - Singer, Dancer. Jonghyun (R.I.P.) - Singer, dancer and now Shawol's angel. Even though they have titles, SHINee's concept is: 5 Lead Singers 5 Lead Dancers 5 Visuals Individually, they would be the main lead in any other group. Because of this the voice over during their debut called them "The shinniest band in the land." Btw, if it's said in English, usually it's Key, even though just like all Kpop, they will all use English lines. This is not SHINee's usual style but SHINee never repeats a style, other than to be nearly flawless in what they do. Key is the fashionista of the group. He designs a lot of their wardrobe and one never knows what he will wear. Somehow it almost always seems to work though.

Shinee's back!!!! So glad you reacted to this! This song is different from there normal sound but shinee is so versatile. This song reminds me of super junior sound a little. Everyone is a bias in this group for me, which i know is impossible, lol. My favorite parts are, them dancing in a circle and the bridge of the song. I also looove the long hair on minho. Anywho! No one expected it believe me xD but we all love it, it gives me lots of exo vibes but is SM so I'm not surprised I'm enjoying it so much, as someone who been listening to shinee from years (they were one the 1st groups in my kpop journey) this definetly fits my taste and it fits the new generation too idk what else to say I'm still overwhelmed xD

Gorl, as a shawol ! Before watching the mv . I was panicking the hell out to either watch it immediately or help myself calm down and breathe . It was the same feeling as i had with exo's DFTF , the only difference was ,i cried the moment the mv dropped without even watching it a sec . It was so long since we got shinee , My bias Onew (I freaking missed his beautiful voice) , it was such a while since i saw him with the members . I was crying and freaking out at the same time, Dont call me was specially worse for Minho stans (they are called flamers as minho is competitive and passionate like chanyeol too😅) , woah i am really yapping a lot . Whatever its shinee , i am allowed to do so , they are my top 3 ults in kpop along with exo and got7 , i yap about them all the time . For onew , we call him Tofu leader or for short Tofu or jinki! or onew (all the names are cute , we are fine with any). Lastly Key in the red outfit !!! Is Art ! And our taemin maknae always slays ! Are we even surprised now?

Just an fyi that, if you notice, at the beginning of the video (when Minho enters through the turnstile) you see words (in reverse) to the left of the screen on a opaque window. It says "Un Esprit Brisé" and under it says "Hall De Gare." This roughly translates as "A Broken Spirit" and "Station Concourse" (or Central Station). Basically, they are performing the song in the Central Station of Broken Spirits. Spooky, isn't it?
