Thanks for reacting to our beloved SHINee! (pronounced Shiny, like a shiny diamond) They are a legendary 5 member group who made their debut in 2008 when the members were practically babies. Taemin the youngest (with black/blonde hair, crazy dancing skills) was 14, Key (Black hair who is in the opening shot) and Minho (tall guy with the goggles) were both 16, Jonghyun (not featured as he passed away in 2017) and Onew (also not featured in this performance video as he is on a hiatus for health reasons, but is in the Hard mv, with one of the most celebrated beautiful voices in the kpop industry) the oldest and leader was only 18. They have experimented with everything and at this point in their career do whatever style they feel like. They are ALL dancers, vocalists, songwriters, soloists and all-rounders. You will not go wrong continuing to explore their mind-boggling discography, both Korean and Japanese releases. Please try reacting to Don't Call Me and Atlantis next, followed by Tell Me What To Do, 1 of 1, Your Number black dance version (a Japanese realease) and their legendary debut song Replay which is covered by many younger groups to this day.

SHINee (pronounced like shiny, as in shiny stars or shiny diamonds. Their name has a double ee to show just how brilliantly they SHINe(e) and their name means "the ones who receive light") are a 5 member group, not single person. The SHINee members are all known as some of the best dancers in the whole industry. They are the group that started the synchronized dance trend. And they made the industry realize that if anyone else wanted to compete they needed to up their game. Just think, when Taemin (the one with the blond highlights) joined SM Entertainment as a trainee at 11, he didn't even have any dance training -- up until then, all his skills were self-taught by watching dancers on TV shows -- and by the time he debuted less than 3 years later in 2008, he was already showing everyone that his skill level was on par with, or even surpassed, many professional dancers who had been dancing for years. That is why Taemin is now considered one of the top two BEST dancers in all of Kpop, voted by his peers and industry experts. (Kai from EXO, who happens to be Taemin's best friend since trainee days, and a fellow member of the Kpop supergroup SuperM, is the other top dancer.) Taemin's nickname is the Korean Michael Jackson. He is also one of the most popular male solo artists. And the fact that the other SHINee members have no problem keeping up with Taemin, just shows why SHINee are one of the top groups. That's just SHINee's natural talent. Plus, Key (the one with the black hair) actually was chosen to become an SM trainee because of his skills as a dancer. He is the SHINee member who is fastest at memorizing choreography. He has a photographic memory, so he only needs to see a dance once and he can replicate it on the spot almost better than the original. He is known as SHINee's dance copy machine. He literally knows everyone's choreography in the Kpop industry. He can fill in as a member of almost any group because he knows their song and choreography just as well, or better, than the actual members. And although, Minho (the one with the goggles) is the main rapper of the group, in fan meetings and concerts when he has a solo stage, he often does dance covers or dance performances because he is also a really good dancer. However, what sets SHINee apart even more as a group, is they also are recognized as some of the best vocalists in the industry. SHINee are referred to as CDINee or CD-eaters, because they sound even better live then their album versions. Even as rookies, SHINee's main vocalists -- Onew and Jonghyun -- were mentors and vocal coaches to a lot of other singers and trainees, including several members of EXO. (EXO may be considered "Vocal Kings," but SHINee are the original Vocal Kings. Which just goes to show you why they are both SM groups.) In their "Juice" performance video Onew -- their leader, and one of the best vocalists in the industry -- was unable to participate in this performance, so the other members took on his parts in the song. However, if you listen to the album version, you will hear Onew's voice and he creates an even richer feel to the song. That's just SHINee for you, even when one of their main vocalists is missing, the other members can step in and cover for them and they still manage to sound and look flawless. Although each of their voices adds their own district color to their songs that can't be replaced -- to be fair, all their songs are much better with all 5 of them -- but the other members are so good, that they never look or sound like they are lacking, no matter who is covering each part of the song. They are legends for their live vocals and amazing dancing. The ONLY thing SHINee is not good at is lip syncing, so they have specifically trained since their debut, to build stamina and endurance, in order to be able to sing live for 3+ hours straight, all while performing these intense choreographies. If you listen to a live performance, you may be shocked, because they sound so perfect live even though they are dancing so intensely, but that is why they are so highly respected by everyone. It's a running joke between fans and the members that you can tell when SHINee are lip syncing because they are so bad at it, that is why they avoid it at all costs. Therefore, when you hear SHINee sing, 95% of the time it will be live. Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing then they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, what you will hear is live vocals. Other Idols and audio sound technicians, etc. who have witnessed SHINee performing live are always blown away, because in the parts of the song where most singers would take a break and rely on the backing track vocals to cover their voices so they can catch their breath and recover, this is where the SHINee members actually ramp it up and become their most powerful. Therefore, if you listen to a live performance of "Juice" you will discover that SHINee sounds even better than you just heard, all while dancing full out like this. I guarantee, that if you were to listen to them singing a cappella while performing this high energy choreography, they would sound just as flawless. That is why, even as rookies, senior artists would stop what they were doing to watch SHINee's rehearsals on music programs because SHINee's vocal talent is that impressive. When SHINee debuted, they were the first group to demonstrate how it was possible to sing live while performing complex choreography and still maintain stable vocals. Before SHINee, the thought within the industry was that it wasn't possible to sing live and also perform high intensity choreography at the same time. At that time, most groups would either sing live and have simple choreography, or they would have crazy cool choreography, but lip sync to their recorded vocals. SHINee completely changed the Kpop industry and upped the standard of what it meant to be an idol singer. SHINee live is unmatched. It's literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard that all other groups strive to reach, and SHINee are the vocalists that all other artists try to emulate. SM really hit gold when they formed this group, and I don't think it can ever be duplicated in the same way again. SHINee are the idols that most other idols will cite as their inspiration and the reason why they wanted to become a dancer and singer, etc. They are most idols' idols and legends even among other legends. To understand just how influential SHINee is, check out a video called, "SHINee's Impact in Music is BIGGER Than You Think. {{Deep Dive}} [15th Anniversary Tribute]," kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6XVi2qOe7R_a9k. There's been a lot of debate whether "Hard" or "Juice" should be the lead/title track on SHINee''s Hard album -- SM wanted "Juice," to be the lead track, but the SHINee members insisting on "Hard." At this point, I think we all just need to trust SHINee knows what they are doing. Over the past 15 years, we have seen the SHINee members prove time and time again, that they know how to be one step ahead of the trend. For example, Jonghyun (SHINee's main vocalist who passed away more than 5 years ago now) wanted his song "Deja Boo" to be his solo debut song, but SM insisted on his song "Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)." And in the end, Jonghyun was right. "Deja Boo" became so popular as a b-side track that it had SM scrambling to find ways to showcase the song, proving Jonghyun knew what he was doing. And, "View" -- which is one of SHINee's most popular songs -- wasn't even a contender for SHINee's Odd album, until Jonghyun rewrote the lyrics and the members pushed SM to make it their lead track. In their recent reality show, Key, Minho and Taemin revealed that they all spent a lot of extra time making sure everything felt right with their Hard album. They wanted to release the album on May 25, the day of their 15th anniversary, but things needed work, so they waited a month. For example, there was a section in "Hard" that needed some tweaking. So, instead of just rushing to get it done, they took the time to make it perfect. Key said that when they heard the final version of "Hard" -- which was sent to them while they were in Japan filming "The Feeling" MV in May -- his legs went numb and he knew "Hard" had to be their title track. LOL I think the members chose wisely. Although I love "Juice" because it does a really good job of showing exactly what makes SHINee one of the best of the best and no one can perform the way they do. However, "Hard" has a much more universally marketable/catchy sound when it comes to appealing to the mainstream public, and the choreography lends itself to being much easier to use for things like tiktok challenges, etc. than "Juice" would have been.

Shinee is one those groups in which all their members are vocalists, rappers, dancers and if any are missing they are able to vocally cover that member ... They are very complete and are very famous for their live stages... Their concerts are another level

SHINee is a 5 member group even though only 3 are in this pv. Individual groups release their music in their own official channel even though they are under SM.

🤣🤣These comments are hilarious.... but FACTS. It's obvious this reactor doesn't read the comments or does research on the KPop BOY GROUPS. So he ends up confusing his viewers ... but thankfully SHAWOLS are kind enough to have the patience to put up with those who don't know. Keep up the good word SHAWOLS .... SHINee (SHY-NEE) continues to Conquer 💎💙👑🏆

Lol , you confused me with your comments. Shinee is pronounced shiny (shiny sun). anyway, Shinee is awesome! And yes Shinee is popular for their live performances. They are performers and great artists and I think if you haven't watched their live concerts you won't be able to appreciate the level of their skill.

He? I'm pretty confused 😅 SHINee is a group of 5 members. Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho and Taemin. They are only 3 here (Key, Minho and Taemin) because their leader Onew is on a hiatus for health issues and your angel Jonghyun sadly passed away in 2017. Nevertheless, thank you for your reaction. Really appreciated it For recommandations: I propose "Don't call me" (2021), "Atlantis" (2021), "Tell me what to do" (2016), "View" (2015), "Sherlock (clue+note)" (2012) it's the very first combination of 2 songs and their debut song "Replay" (2008). There are a lot more to watch but this is a good start. They all have solo careers, so maybe you’d be interested in digging in 😊

This is a group ^^ a Kpop GROUP. And its pronounced SHINY. ;) Also they don't belong to YG or Bighit. They are from SM, which is another label... I think you are a little confused about how Kpop works and what it is, right? :) But all good! Just know SHINee are legends in Kpop and they are in the business for 15 years and still relevant and respected until now. :)

It might be a good idea to read your comments on your reaction videos before doing any more Kpop reactions. You won't gain followers if you don't at least understand what you are watching. SHINee are a 5 member Kpop boy group, who are under SM Entertainment. (There are 3 members shown in the "Juice" performance video, and they are all singing and rapping in the song, not one person.) I'm confused how you would think this is only one person when you can see multiple people singing, rapping and dancing in this video. BTS is also a 7 member group, not a single person. These are Kpop groups, not solo artists. It's like watching a Spice Girls MV and saying, "wow she is really good. I like her. I think I will listen to more of her music." Or watching a BackStreet Boys or One Direction video and saying, "he's a great singer." You mean, their music and them, because they are all groups, not a single person. You said you saw SHINee's "Hard" MV right, so how do you not realize that this is the same people you saw in that MV, just performing another song on their album? Who is the "he" you keep referring to? Key, Minho or Taemin who are members of SHINee, the songwriters who are Dem Jointz and Kenzie, or the company SM Entertaiment? Are we even watching the same video? Nothing in this video looks like a solo artist performing by themselves. The Kpop industry has groups who are made up of anywhere from 2 to more than 20 members and solo artists. The majority of Kpop songs you react to will be songs by groups, not individual artists. However, the individual members of Kpop groups also do solo projects and release solo songs. Each Kpop group or artist has their own KZbin channel where their videos get posted, but most artists are part of a larger company. (If you look at the thumbnail or at the very end of the video you will see that SHINee is part of SM Entertainment/ an "SMTown Official" MV, which is the company they are under.) SM Entertainment is the company that founded the Kpop industry way back in 1996, and they are one of the largest and most influential entertainment companies in Korea. Members of SM Entertainment are all part of SMTown. There are dozens of artists and groups under SM. (Just like western record labels or entertainment companies that have many artists under their label, and not all artists are under the same label. The Korean entertainment industry works the same way.) The Kpop industry has lots of companies that represent Kpop groups. SM Entertainment is part of what is referred to as the big 3 -- which includes SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment -- categorized as such because they are some of first and largest companies with the most number of groups and artists in the Kpop industry. Plus, there are dozens of smaller companies who are either under the parent company Hybe Labels -- i.e. formerly known as BigHit, which BTS and TXT are under; or Pledis Entertainment that represents groups like Seventeen; or Source Music, which represents the girl group LE SSERAFIM; or ADOR that represents the girl group NewJeans, etc. And there are also independent smaller labels that have only a few groups and artists.
